Mistel brings us their first full-size keyboard after a long run of smaller form factors. The X-VIII (X8->108, get it?) also features their own keycaps, which use thick PBT plastic and doubleshot injected legends. Add the optional Bluetooth and a choice of five Cherry MX switches and Mistel put out a lot of options to appeal to everyone here!

I like the blue/grey color scheme, and most of the features too...

But why include a USB-C port on the board, then supply a cable with USB-A on the other end...... C-to -C cables are only a dollar or 2 moar than C-to-A ones :( And at this price point, this should be a gimme anyways :D

I understand that many periphs don't need all of the bandwidth that USB-C offers, but still seems like a waste to use it on 1 end but not the other IMHO....

MX Blue and Clear don't count as clicky?
Ugh.. I don't know why I spaced out about the MX Blue switches, thanks I've corrected it. The MX Clears are tactile only btw.

As you said, peripherals would be a waste of USB Type-C on the computer side of things. There are also still far more Type-A ports than Type-C, so why take up those for keyboards just yet?

It's too bad there are not more keyboards with clears. I have browns and sometimes I find them squishy, also it's basically impossible for me to 'feel' the tactile point on them. (typed from a corsair strafe)

Is this double negative intentional, or a typo?

Yup, the MX Clear is arguably my favorite Cherry switch. Unfortunately, it's got lost in the shuffle for RGB.

Not my best work, huh? Thanks for letting me know. It was indeed a typo.

@VSG are you sure it's Bluetooth 3.0? As it normally relies on WiFi for the extra benefits. Seems like a very odd standard to have in a brand new product.

Yup, confirmed it with Mistel. A few other brands are using older BT 3.0 controllers too, so that by itself was not odd to me as much as disappointing.

Wow, that's really odd, as there are next to no benefits of Bluetooth 3.0 over 2.1, beyond the HS mode, which required WiFi as a backhaul. I guess that's also why Bluetooth 3.0 never gained much popularity...
I would've expected at least 4.x, since that's a 2010 standard...

Looks exactly like my Ducky Shine I've had for I think 10 or so years now. Down to the PCB color, placement, dip switches and plastic housing.
