The Beast Canyon NUC 11 Extreme is an upcoming small form factor PC from Intel featuring their latest Tiger Lake-H processors. The processors will be installed on new compute units with options for various Tiger Lake-H SKUs including Core i5, i7, and i9 models. The compute element will also include support for dual-channel DDR4 3200 MHz memory and three M.2 devices. The 8L NUC 11 Extreme enclosure will also feature support for full-length discrete GPUs. The connectivity options for the upcoming NUC include WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 2.5/10 GbE, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and triple HDMI 2.0b connectors. Intel is expected to provide a "sneak peek" of the NUC 11 Extreme during COMPUTEX 2021.

You can expect DerBauer to be the 1st one to do something crazy with this NUC when he gets his hands on this.

AMD's mobile offerings (which are already out), are the same performance, for almost half the power usage.

The 10th Gen unit is a fail when housed in a case like shown, too hot when paired with a GPU blocking the only airflow to the CPU.

Considering the boost is what makes the 11th gen good, I'm not optimistic. Having one that has a AIO water cooler on the compute unit would be much better, or maybe have one that is oversized to spread the surface area and have 2-3 big fans like non-blower style GPU coolers. Except you'd have to find a different spot for the PSU unfortunately, likely making it bigger, which is starting to defeat the point of it.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
But do they have the same form factor.
Form factor is a function of thermal density design limits, so a AMD setup in the same form could sustain higher clocks and performance for longer due to a lower TDP.

This is Intel trying to stay relevant while getting a kick in the balls from foundry issues.

I have a 3900x. I would rather have an amd chip. Amd doesn't have chips in this form factor.
