Alphacool today presents the NexXxoS Nova 1080 mm fan box and the Nova 1080 9x120mm fan shroud, two further accessories to fine tune the functionality of the Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 & UT60 Full copper 1080 mm Nova radiators.

The Alphacool NexXxoS Nova 1080 mm fan box enables external installation of a NexXxoS XT45 Nova 1080 mm radiator including fan. Thanks to the included feet, the fan box can be placed anywhere. The grid structure at the front and rear of the box provides optimum air flow and also protects the fan and the cooling fins of the radiator from damage due to penetration by foreign bodies.

The radiator fan shroud for Alphacools NexXxoS XT45 & UT60 Full copper 1080 mm Nova radiators offers the possibility to operate the radiator in push & pull mode. The additional frame allows the fans to be mounted on the second side of the radiator.

Now if some one made a tower, where the backplate could be removed and this used instead - so you could use om quick connects to release the case if your in need of travel and use this at home - now that would be something.

Ain't buying a used AC condenser, as they are also made from copper more reasonable and cheaper? Put it outside with the original fan. Just redo the tubes.

@VSG... do a test...

The Alphacool square rads are just three of their standard rad cores stacked vertically, it still uses the same style of flat coolant tubes and serpentine fins. It's the Watercool MORA series that is the round tube square rad design, and I've actually tested both the Alphacool (Phobya) and Heatkiller MORA3 Pro before elsewhere.

That's my reasoning why AC becomes a cheaper alternative. You need 3 rads + 9 fans... It ain't cheap.

if you installing so big rad behind your case, you really don't need fans at all.

Ah. From the picture they had 3 chambers on each side so I took them as three...
I do wonder if you can fit 3. :wtf:
Imho creating something for large 250mm fans would be more reasonable price wise.
duct tape and a desk fan. :D
I can imagine a large fan and that radiator duct taped together and rotating back and forth!!! :D :D

I see 2 ways this thing could be improved:
1. Make the stand thicker to allow more space between the fans and radiator, so it can act like a shroud and remove the fan hub "dead spot."
2. Provide some way to accommodate a reservoir / pump+res combo on top of the radiator, so all major drain and fill points can be outside the case and at the highest point possible, in order to ease the air bleeding process.

Really a niche product, probably for individuals that need to liquid cool 3 or more high end graphics cards that are constantly running at near 100% together. The only use I see is for individuals that are running a render farm or those that just want to go overboard with their cooling solution.

I added a MoRa 420 because 2x 420mm weren't cutting it for me. Before I had to run my 6x NF-A14 at ~600 RPM for 35°C coolant and later those fans were off while 4x NF-A20 spun at 330 RPM with coolant at 28°C.
Yes, it is ridiculous overkill for just 350W but having an inaudible system with very low temps even at full load is kinda nice.

Many overclockers seems to like such radiators.
Many at Hardwareluxx are using Mo-Ra.
I think something like this.

Seems like easy to put out of window in winter to get extra cooling effect.

Since I got a MORA 420 Pro Stainless Steel (it screams quality!) I will never go back to internal rads ever again. Not only it keeps my overclocked i9-7940X (5X 4.9Ghz , 9 4.8Ghz) + 1080Ti + M/B VRMS ultra cool, it is also super quiet. I might even get a second one and try passive cooling. Yet, the case is so clean inside and very optimized for airflow while the external rad always gets fresh air.......all in all, there is no contest compared to internal rads.

If one wants to go real silent, with fans on extra low, while still gaming hard on OC'd equipment, extra large rads like these with decent quality fans running at their minimum speed can do the trick. Or even go without the fans, provided there is some basic air circulation in the room (it has been used that way in the past, in a number of old/early watercooling builds with the Phobya version).

One could go even bigger in the past; Aquacomputer made the 3ft tall Airplex Gigant that functioned somewhat like a typical HVAC outdoor condenser; pulling or pushing air through finstack. There was also the Zalman Reserator V1 and V2 and the Thermaltake Symphony and Orchestra standing reservoir/radiators. Not to be outdone, Alphacool also used to have an explicitly passive radiator in the expandable Cape Cora radiator, which had to be hung on the wall much like a classic room heating radiator coil, or could be hung outside.

It doesn't cost the same to run an AC 24/7, it doesn't work that well by just putting it by your PC, and personally if I chose that route I would get a chiller........but, it works fine with the MORA so why bother.
