I like that the ICON TX looks like an elegant piece of furniture, yet has all the necessary ergonomics and offers the topnotch build quality that's standard for noblechairs. Yes, it is expensive, but in this case, you do get what you paid for!

On topic:
I won't be buying any "gaming chair" anymore, my next chair will be a good office one...

I have yet to see a decent "GAMING" chair anywhere... the largest majority of them are crap, wear out fast and are only comfortable for about an hour, maybe 2.....although I usually don't look at stuff in this price range, mainly because I simply am not eva gonna spend this much on any chair...

I have several really well made, really comfortable office chairs that only cost about 60-70% of this one, and they have all lasted 3 years or more and are still as comfortable & functional as they were on day 1 :)

Why Ikea is bad? Markus line is one of the best for both gaming and office usage. I dont get the author why he name shames a company.

Ikea isn't bad and the Markus is okay for its price, but it certainly isn't "one of the best". The complete lack of back angle adjustment is pretty terrible, the fixed armrests are quite bad as well, and the nonadjustable lumbar support is adequate at best. It's okay for a budget chair, but its lack of adjustability means it suits a relatively narrow selection of body shapes. The new-ish Järvfjället is a good evolution of the Markus for nearly the same price, but sadly it still has fixed armrests (albeit far better designed ones).

Sadly this chair isn't much better. The materials look nice, but the fact that it uses a simplistic back rake adjustment (back hinged to the seat) rather than some sort of synchro or independent adjustment for the seat and back is downright terrible at this price. So you can lean back really far? Cool. Too bad you will get zero seat support while doing so, leading to an unhealthy stretching of your spine. The need for tacked-on, elastic-mounted pillows for ergonomic support just speaks to how fundamentally flawed this type of chair is. The fact that this lacks the shoulder-squeezing "wings" of most gaming bucket seats is good, but it's hardly a major erbomic innovation.

Yeah, flawed from the start, so while this better than a lot of others in the category its still not good for what its intended purpose. And yeah, some people get along with them fine but I'm going to assume they don't have any underlying physical issues and are in somewhat decent shape.

And conform to a relatively narrow range of heights and overall physical builds. Sadly it seems that actual ergonomic considerations and adjustability is just something that "gaming chair" makers DGAF about. This is about the price of my Autonomous Ergochair 2 (I think they call it "Pro" now?), and honestly they would have to pay me quite a bit to switch between the two. The Ergochair is far from perfect, but it's pretty good, and at least it's trying.
