The Kioxia Exceria is the new price/performance king in our SSD reviews. This Phison E12-based drive is priced at just 9 cents per GB, yet offers performance besting most value solid-state drives. This is the drive you want if money is tight.

Now that is a price to beat. And it's TLC! Nice.
(Also the living proof that sequentials mean exactly jack shit with regards to actual, real-life performance, but that's older than yesterday's news so xD.)

I don't really like it. It has decent performance (600 MB/s after a very small SLC cache) with a nice controller and good flash (which is BiCS4) and high price, and there are better SSD at this (or lower) price (talking about the 1 TB SKU on Amazon.com - $134): Samsung 970 EVO Plus/970 EVO, SK Hynix Gold P31, Mushkin Pilot-E, WD SN750, HP EX950, etc.

For $134 yes, but this is some weird reseller that works around "we don't sell our products in the US". The actual price of this drive is much lower, don't look in US

OK, $107 is much better and it's a good price, even if my top picks would be WD SN750 and ADATA SX8200 Pro.

Considering what kind of product it is...

Why there are not many mainstream 22110 sized M2's... many boards have space for it... including the PS5... it would help with thermals and you can use multichannel low capacity NANDS to create cheaper configurations imho.

All this means to me is that SSD prices are coming down further and getting more competitive. For what the performance and longer term reliability for the 'Kioxia Exceria' presents, I think that its pricing should be no more than $65 to really making an impact and splash no matter what!

ADATA is doing a 22110 SSD with the Prospector 970 (Chia-based SSD).

The Exceria has been around for a very long time as an OEM drive (as has the Plus variant). It's solid hardware, and of course we have many other good drives that were derived from OEM - SN550, SN750, P31, etc. The P31 unfortunately cannot be found or found cheaply in most regions.

Looks like a good value SSD tho

Sadly in my region of Southeast Asia, this ssd is priced like a premium product by the official distributor here. In our currency, it sells for the equivalent of ~120 USD, making me wonder why would anyone buy this. And since thats the official price, other distributors/shops here sell them at around the same price, some even higher.

@W1zzard Why does page 15 for MySQL benches show the SSD name "MSI Spatium M390 1TB" in the graphs and why did no one notice for a year? ...I'm afraid to post a link as a new user due to anti-spams.

Haha, indeed... only the chart title was wrong, I've fixed it. Thanks!
