The SilverStone Alta F1 with its all-aluminium exterior looks sleek and has a layout that goes beyond the 90° rotated body of the frame. Including three Air Penetrator fans in the floor and the ability install a 360 radiator in the ceiling, the Alta F1 makes for a potent chassis that looks extremely stylish to boot.

I'm running the Alta F1 atm. The best way to describe this case is half finished. There's front panel cable runs in the back IO space, god knows of any practical way to mount fans or coolers in the top of the case (which is okay, these rotated cases are perfect for a good tower cooler, but should be mentioned), that the IO panel has glass showing all of your back IO cable mess, or to even plug IO cables into the top you have to put your hand thru fan mounts. Furthermore, the 'fan filter' plastic on the bottom came bent in my case, and one bit of plastic has actually broken.

Now, don't get me wrong, things like the subtle RGB effect at the front (pair it with 3xAP 140i RGB fans below for a lovely subtle effect) and the aluminium look fantastic, its a gorgeous case at times. But that, along with issues with some GPU's and heatpipe orientation make this case something that simply should not have come to market. Now, considering that Silverstone have been talking about how expensive this case was to make for them, I doubt it will remain in the market for long anyway, but I would like to see Silverstone revise this case, as as I said, the styling of it is absolutely superb.

Hopefully when they release a v2 of this case (because it does have promise) to address these concerns, they'll also offer a variant with aluminum side panels as opposed to tempered glass.

Thanks for getting the ALTA F1, really appreciate it!

The original target price for the ALTA F1 was to be in the USD $180 ~ $200 range, that was before the pandemic. When we reduced forecast on its production quantity amid raising raw material costs, it quickly became apparent we couldn't sell at that price range outside of China (and we did only sell in China for almost a year). However, we did get enough inquiries and eventually decided to import limited quantities to our US and European offices. So yeah, we don't plan on restocking them once they sell out!

I like that Silverstone are sticking with the 90 degree rotated cases, still rocking a FT02 here, recently upgraded to the new PWM RGB 180mm AP fans. Will skip this one but looking forward to future iterations!

I disagree with the conclusion, it's definitely not like a Lamborghini exterior with VW internals.
It's more like they got 4 average people in different rooms to each design a part of the case and then slapped them all together and called it quits.
Were they charging by the hour for the case to cost that much?
The basic concept is fine but there is far too much that needs to be adressed before it was put on the market.

I really like interesting and innovative case design and this is a beautiful case with impressive performance. Only downside is its probably a hassle to plug and unplug cables from the top.

It looks beautiful and as a fan of the FT05 I appreciate development in that kind of direction.
However the F1 seems unnecessarily big, especially if you don't need the additional radiator space at the top and bottom. I was surprised that is is almost a full 10L bigger than the FT05.
Instead of catering to beefy water-cooling AND beefy air-cooling, I'd like to see dedicated versions for either case, in the hopes that an air-cooling focused version would cut down on the height...

I know what you mean I'm still using my RV02 it's had a couple of upgrades over the years like the USB3.0 top panel and some 181AP fans it's just a shame I can't buy new fan filters for it for love nor money as the original ones were made of such shitty plastic that if you weren't very careful removing and replacing them they'd break :( ..

We hear you, and have been working on a separate 180mm filter that should be released in a couple of months!
