AMD is planning to crash Intel's big 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake-P" mobile processor launch with its own next-gen launch, the Ryzen 6000 mobile processor series. These chips are the company's first built on the TSMC N6 (6 nm) silicon fabrication process, and combine up to 8 "Zen 3+" CPU cores, with a next-generation iGPU based on the RDNA2 graphics architecture. The company has given the Media CoreNext and Video CoreNext engines incremental updates, according to a leaked slide scored by VideoCardz.

Ryzen 6000 "Rembrandt" processors come with hardware-accelerated decode of the AV1 video format. The Display CoreNext (display I/O engine) now supports DisplayPort 2.0, complete with DSC, UHBR10, HDR10+, and variable refresh-rate. The HDR pipeline has awareness for the various display panel types, including OLED and mini-LED. The iGPU on "Rembrandt" features up to 12 compute units (768 stream processors). It remains to be seen if Ray Accelerators are featured, as that would make this the first iGPU (on the PC platform) with DirectX 12 Ultimate support.



Moving on to platform I/O, and we see "Rembrandt" come with the most up-to-date memory interface, including DDR5 and LPDDR5. Data-rates natively supported include DDR5-4800 and LPDDR5-6400. The PCI-Express interface, however, is slightly older, at PCI-Express Gen 4. In its mobile avatar, "Rembrandt" puts out a total of 20 PCIe Gen 4 lanes; 8 of which are dedicated to a PCI-Express discrete GPU interface; 4 toward chipset-bus, and 8 toward up to two CPU-attached NVMe interfaces. The processor also features USB4 (40 Gbps). AMD Ryzen 6000 series will likely debut the RZ600-series WLAN module the company co-developed with MediaTek. This allows notebook vendors to do away with Intel-sourced WLAN modules. The RZ600-series modules offer contemporary connectivity, which include Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth LE 5.2.

price to performance bump probably won't be worth it. if you are in the market and see a good sell for a current APU ddr4 system workstation I'd say go for that instead.

that HDR auto-detect whether your panel is OLED, etc is kind of neat though.

There is something odd with "DisplayPort 2.0 Ready" feature and support for UHBR10 40 Gbps output.
AMD's website shows that Rembrandt iGPU supports only HBR3 video data rate (DisplayPort 1.4), so 32 Gbps from CPU's graphics.

Where does this DP 2.0 "Readiness" come from? Navi 22 and 23 mobile GPUs also support DP 1.4. Does any FP7 motherboard have a level shifter chip for DP 2.0? Could someone explain, please?
