The Lamptron HM070 Lift takes the same core display of the HX070 and embeds it into an external housing out of which it may be raised by pressing a button on the wireless remote. That is as unique as it sounds and clearly caters to those who want something that really stands apart from the usual visual bling.

Wow, that's certainly unique! Pretty cool, though also really gimmicky. Would be rather neat to integrate into a desk (or just stick to the back of your monitor) though.

Cool concept, but for that price they can keep it.

Be forewarned Aida64 has had a nasty bug/conflict with AMD GPU sensors/driver for years now. (causes system/driver crashes at a minimum)

Personally, I think it's worthless, but I could see some niche value in certain themed builds or desk mods. Still, for that price, one may as well just buy a Chinese LCD/LED screen off Aliexpress (just search AIDA 64 screen) and fashion your own frame for them for same or less cost, in larger screen sizes.

I don't think the word "need" is appropriate here, today or however many years ago. It's just a toy, a way for some people to show off how much money they are willing to spend on vanity, just like RGB or corporate branded items and such. A guy named Thorstein Veblen wrote a book or two about such behavior more than a hundred twenty years ago.

OK, I did not see this one coming. :) I like the case mods with small screen attached to the glass on the side. Also I have a soft spot for Lamptron, but I don't quite "get it" with this one. Where can you mount it? Can it go in a 5.25" bay? If there is a case where the ODD bay is vertical and this pops up when activated...

There used to be a case brand called GMC, and they made some really unique cases with slot-loading ODD bays that popped up or down the front panel, instead of out, like this one for example.

And on a related tangent, Thermaltake had their SwordM and Mozart mega tower cases that had a special bay just for their automotive pop-out LCD screen. It was literally a car head unit that popped out forwards, then flipped up. The novel thing was that it had VGA input (a rarity on car DIN units at the time).

I have a DIY 7" 1024x600 touchscreen from Amazon that I bought for about 50 quid 4 years ago. Sure, it doesn't have a motor, and its IPS is rather weak (tends to burn-in), but for that price difference, it's sure alright.
