ADATA Technology, a manufacturer of high-performance DRAM modules, NAND Flash products, mobile accessories, gaming products, electric power trains, and industrial solutions today announced that its Premier Extreme SDXC SD7.0 Express Card, equipped with an SMI SM2708AB controller, is the world's first branded SD Express Card to pass SD Association's SD Express Verification Program (SVP). This verification status affirms that the SD Express Card meets SDA's rigorous interface standards for performance and reliability. The Premier Extreme SDXC Express Card will allow users to take full advantage of the latest SD Express-enabled laptops from all the major PC brands.

"Due to their compact form factors, SD cards have been and continue to be a mainstay of creators, creative professionals, and general users despite their lesser capabilities when compared to other storage devices," said Ibsen Chen, Director of Product Marketing at ADATA. "However, with the SVP verified ADATA Premier Extreme SDXC SD7.0 Express Card, we are giving users an SD Card that meets the standards of a modern world where high-quality content and fast data transfer rates are the norms."

Ultra-Compact, But Performs Like an SSD
With support for PCIe Gen3 x1 and NVMe, the ADATA Premier Extreme SDXC SD7.0 Express Card delivers read and write performance of up to 800/700 MB/s, which is roughly 1.5 times faster than SATA SSDs. When compared to UHS-II SD cards and UHS-I SD cards, it is about 2.7 and 8 times faster, respectively. The Premier Extreme SDXC Express Card is backward compatible with the UHS-I standard. It can be inserted into digital cameras to take high-quality photos or 4K videos and then inserted into a PC that supports SD 7.0 for seamless editing or playback. The performance enhancement afforded by PCIe Gen3 x1 and NVMe put the ADATA Premier Extreme SDXC SD7.0 Express Card on par with solid state drives, but with the form factor advantage of an SD Card.

The Premier Extreme SDXC Express Card supports UHS-I video equipment, with a read and write speed of 100 MB/s, and conforms to the V30 Video Speed Class. This means it is fully qualified to work with mainstream Ultra HD 4K video recording applications to help users create high-quality, pro-level content. The Premier Extreme SDXC Express Card comes with 256 GB or 512 GB of capacity to offer ample storage for a variety of needs.

Secure and Durable
The data inside is safe and secure with the ADATA Premier Extreme SDXC SD Express Card. It features error correcting code to ensure data accuracy. What's more, it is waterproof, shock-proof, x-ray-proof, static-resistant, and tested to operate optimally in high and low temperatures.

This is a tough market to crack. Many users of high speed SD cards are using them in professional settings, and need to have reliability.
I would wait for independent USER reviews, as we know ADATA ships cherry picked samples to reviewers and is wont to change specs after the honeymoon.
