EIZO Introduces 23.8-inch USB Type-C Docking Monitor with Sustainability Features

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the FlexScan EV2490 - a 23.8-inch, frameless IPS monitor with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) equipped with USB Type-C connectivity for streamlined hot desking and remote office work. The monitor achieves exemplary ergonomics, energy-savings, and sustainability to lessen impact on the environment.

The FlexScan EV2490 is the sister model to the 27-inch FlexScan EV2795 (2560 x 1440 pixels) and 24.1-inch EV2495 (1920 x 1200 pixels), from the FlexScan Premium line of business monitors. The EV2490's 23.8-inch, Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) panel provides an option for users looking for a compact and versatile solution that includes the added value features of EIZO's Premium business monitor lineup.



Contributing to a more sustainable future remains an important goal for both businesses and consumers who are looking to manufacturers to carry out environmentally friendly initiatives. As part of EIZO's commitment to care for the environment, the EV2490 is the first FlexScan product to move away from using plastic and styrofoam in its packaging. The monitor is safely packed using molded pulp, which is made from recycled cardboard and newspaper, and cables are wrapped in environmentally friendly pulp sheet instead of plastic bags. Furthermore, the EV2490 is supplied with a single USB Type-C cable with multi-purpose functionality in place of multiple separate signal cables that may be non-essential to the user's desktop configuration. EIZO aims to continue these and other responsible manufacturing practices to promote sustainability without compromising product quality.

The EV2490 is also certified by worldwide comprehensive sustainability standards including TCO Certified Generation 9, EPEAT, and EnergyStar. In addition, EIZO is taking its own steps to contribute to the initiatives set forth by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the environmentally friendliness and higher work efficiency of its FlexScan business monitors.

While many modern laptops are designed to be thinner and more portable, they often have limited connectivity options. The EV2490 acts as a docking station when connected via USB Type-C, which allows users to display video, playback audio, transmit USB signals, and supply 70 watt power to connected devices such as laptop computers.

The EV2490 has a dedicated LAN port directly built into the monitor for a stable wired connection. Connecting any laptop via USB Type-C allows access to the network through the monitor's stable wired connection, so users can conduct conference calls or transfer data reliably and at high speed.

The monitor also has three USB Type-A ports for easily connecting peripherals such as an external keyboard, mouse, or web camera. In addition, users can easily connect multiple monitors in a daisy chain from a single video signal via USB Type-C. This provides additional screen space for viewing multiple applications more easily while keeping the work area free of excessive cable clutter.

The monitor implements a virtually frameless design for a minimalistic aesthetic. In addition to sleek black, the cabinet is available in white for a color option that keeps the workspace feeling bright. Furthermore, the monitor comes with a stand and cables that match the cabinet for full color coordination.

I bought 4k Eizo monitor and it's the best I've ever had. When I compare it with Dell, it has working USB-C/DP+USB "KVM" - I use laptop and desktop PC, much less horizontal tearing, good colors and really uniform backlight. And yeah, the price is comparable with higher end audio amplifiers.

Once you used a CS model monitor of them it's impossible to get used to a cheap pos from any other brand.

I currently still use a CX240 from 2013, but as soon i get my hands on a RTX 4060 (Ti perhaps) i will also get a CS2731.

This is an very attractive model for professional workstations, will EIZO be capable to deliver it at 140 EUR (without VAT) at Retail market ?
FlexScan EV2480 this is VAT+retail at 340 EUR, so I do not think EV2490 this be any cheaper.

You are right, the best monitor that I ever had(have) .
I also use an CS 240, never had problems.
