Oh yeah, the reviewed sample is already in my studio as an event live streaming backup option, should anything ever happen to the Blackmagic DeckLink in my streaming rig. Which tells you how much I grew to trust it, after almost a month of playing with it

Hi,
Uncompressed well that can result in insane size files no matter what resolution you choose.

OBS best thing you could do is change default settings to mp4 and x264 for recording and streaming and leave it on 60fps and still have good quality without filling your disk in a very short time :laugh:

For the price there isn't competition with USB 3.0 connectivity, you need to pay double it's price to have 4K 30fps/QHD 60fps/FHD 120fps with something like AVerMedia GC553 Live Gamer Ultra.

Indeed. I paid a lot for the Live Gamer Ultra. Even though I only need 1080p60 SDR for recording, I need 4K60 HDR passthrough.

But at least it works perfectly.

This looks pretty great, the budget capture card market is full of aliexpress tier capture cards of questionable reliability and performance.

I'm a bit 'new' to stream capture devices. Does the passthrough preserve Gsync/Freesync/AdaptiveSync? Also, why no 1080P 120+hz pass-thru, but 60hz 4k?

You cannot use VRR with most capture cards.

There is a new Elgato HD60 X card that supports it.

VRR is a pretty premium feature (and usually not needed given most people stream at 1080p for fps and internet reasons). Nothing higher than 60fps because I don't think any streaming services go higher than 60.

The encoding is done at 60 fps, but i've seen plenty of streams where the streamer plays at 100+ fps, i guess VRR would have value there, especially for competitive games

As far as I know, many streamers use display cloning. One output is going to their high refresh monitor (which can support VRR), another output is going to their capture card.

But it is weird that this card does not support high refresh rates for lower resolutions. Maybe that would increase the price, I am not sure what is needed to handle those kinds of signals, but I expect more than simply HDMI 2.0 ports.

Yep universal app linux or windows.
Took a little testing to get a wide screen resolution for movie/.. recording but works well
Full screen has always been easy and of course hotkeys for pause and resume rules :respect:
