I just found out now that there are 8GB DDR5 modules. It's still expensive, but there's hope with the forecast to drop 20% soon

Going into this review I was expecting a rather large difference between 16 and 32 because it has less ICs. Nope, pretty much the same as 4800 MT/s 32GB kit. The only problem with less memory is running out of system memory.

4800-CL40 is about as far from "performance" as you can get, and the latencies/gaming benchmarks back that up.

If you're going to invest in a DDR5 platform, you can afford to get memory with lower latencies than the worst, slowest, lowest-grade DDR4-1600L that JEDEC even certified 9 years ago.

This thing goes from 4800-CL40 to 5400-CL36 in a push of a button or two.
And after you see the performance after the overclocking it comes out 4 - 6 best out of those tested sticks. Mind you before it was last place (obviously), just like you said.

Update: This kit does NOT work on a bunch of AMD B650/X670 MBs. Doesn't seem to be related to one brand, just won't boot at all. Avoid for AMD!
