Does the thermal pad on the pmic matter for overclocking ?

Do you think the other 64GB kits are M-die also? It seems they are being clocked from the factory at speeds you are able to acheive with your OC results here.

Good question. I have seen this noted in the last few reviews. Is there room to add our own thermal pad if this is really necessary?

Good to see the game benchmarks, I have more comfort in knowing that ram matters almost not at all as long as you avoid bottom of the barrel 4800 cas 40, although I don't think I have seen you do a DDR5 8gbx4 (fill all the DIMM slots) review of any DDR5 kit yet... that might change things. Not sure. @ir_cow

I was told by one memory vendor that the PMIC could burn out in 5 years (or simulated) if the voltage is high enough / not enough cooling. This was the early days of DDR5, so maybe that information is outdated (sorted out) or if the voltage is low enough on retail kits that it just doesn't matter. I included it for those who may want to push 1.5v+.

32GB DIMM DDR5-6000 kinda has to be SK Hynix right now. Most likely M-Die. 4800-5600 can be Micron or Hynix. Easy way to find out is look at motherboard QVL lists that have the memory type. That's how I bought this Kingston DDR5-5600 64GB kit (KF556C40BBK2-64). The RGB version is Micron. I was was going to get the 5200 M-Die and OC, but It was more expensive. Go figure.

No vendor is officially selling 4x DDR5. You'll see listings on Amazon and Newegg, but that is a 3rd party selling 2 Kits package together. If I were to add it to the charts, the timings and frequency would be at my discretion. Can't please everyone. Might just do 5600 CL40 to keep it simple and "likely compatible". 6400 CL30 would be the extreme other side of far beyond the XMP. I have 128GB now as well. Thinking of DDR5-4400.

I'd like to see something the average joe could pull off, like 4x ddr5 5200 cas 40 (unless 5600 is easier to pull off than I imagine)

I have two kits of 2x 8gb ddr4 ram at the moment running XMP just fine, as long as it is same brand, would that not also work with ddr5 5200 kits as long as same brand, etc.

I wouldn't list the brand since it's not officially sold that way. It's easy enough for me to pair them off. Same PMIC and ICs is all you need to get reasonable results.

I wish all kits had a fallback option that works at the rated clocks but just safe timings.

Especially with the end of a generation, like DDR4, we have DDR4-4400 CL19 and if your IMC can't handle that then it's back to DDR4-2133 for you unless you manually set timings. Not everyone has the knowledge to do that and manual timings scare away most novice builders.

DDR5 prices have come down significantly it seems on some kits.
This 32GB kit is just $140, which is cheaper than many 32GB DDR4 kits.
