Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered has recently been updated with support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS), making it the second game to fully support XeSS. In this mini-review, we take a look, comparing the image quality and performance gains offered by XeSS, FSR 2.0 and DLSS.

It seem it really aimed at 4K when you have still more data... at 1440p and less it becomes a blurry vaseline experience.

It seems to me that XeSS early woes is mostly due to the game's devs and Intel's upsampling team lack of communication and optimation, though.

Intel needs to get on this fast.

You should have tested with the FSR 2.1 dll. It fixed the bright aliasing artefacts that the vanilla version would produce in Spider-Man.

It is always best to test with the version that most owners will play with out the gate.

Other than that, the review would appear botched for the uninformed.

Did they test on Windows 10 or 11? Most people are still on 10.

Depends if there are P & E cores.

E-cores are marketing BS. It doesn't matter who the reviewer is. Not one review, other than OPINION, shows Eww-cores TRUE benefits.

Doesn't seem to be much point to XeSS on non-Intel GPU's so far. Simply better off with FSR 2.0 if you don't have a DLSS capable card.

Hopefully FSR/DLSS/XeSS continue to be updated to the latest versions going forward, especially since it looks like all of them are developing pretty rapidly. I probably will never use XeSS given the option, but I'm sure there will be games that will "choose" to support only one.

i hope, in the future, every games don't bother to put very high resolution in the package of games, so it will be trim the size of games to download..
and as for the very high resolution assets, just make it a free dlc..

Not going to happen. Even drivers' packages has doubled in size.

Looks like FSR2.0 has CAS sharpening even with sharpen set to 0, the contrast is kinda wack with FSR2.0

They could have still included it as a 4th option. Also i believe in the future those DLL's may come with new drivers so no more games using old versions.
Frankly im surprised that they went with game specific DLL's at all considering how fast this tech is iterating.

I makes way more sense to have those DLL's bundled with the driver and have games use that instead of their own bundled versions.
it is as stupid as games (or programs in general) using their own (always outdated) Visual C++ versions instead of using newer system level ones.

Currently anyone who installs a lot of programs/games ends up with a mile long list of installed Visual C++ versions in their add/remove programs list.
Tho admittedly this is on Microsoft too.

FSR 2.1 is truly impressive in this game.

NVIDIA has already responded to this request. It's not happening.

Can you point me to this response?

I just find it odd. I mean yes some games might have problems with the newest DLL but the driver could come with all versions and the game could request to use specific version from driver. User could of course force the game to use the newest regardless.
The important thing would be that all versions would be present within the driver folder not spread around.

Searching is your friend (it's not your birthday). I'm not trying to convince you one way or another.

You can find it odd all you like but do really think that NVIDIA high-paid scientists/researchers have not thought about this YEARS AGO before they even introduced DLSS to the public?!

Well, keep hoping for the best.

DLSS 2.0 is so far ahead of FSR 2.0 and XLSS and DLSS 3.0 is going to make the difference look generational. I don’t think we should review cards without these turned on because it gimps a major feature.
