MSI MEG Ai1000P 1000 W

Great review as usual, keep it up.

Wow, I was not expecting to see that. The price stinks but rarely does the msrp hang around for very long.

Awesome review as always.

I'm not good at PSU, is this model better than Seasonic 1000W Prime Ultra Titanium?

Great review !

I'm having so much difficulty finding a good ATX 3.0 in Europe..albeit some where announced back in February.
Even if I go with RDNA3 I just want a good future-proofed PSU with all connections, my current PSU is an sfx 750W I had it for quite some time but it's not really enough for a 4090 or a 7900XTX (whichever I end up picking).
Ideally I'd want a 1000W platinum ATX 3.0 (went with a new case)

Yeah, I'm in the middle or deciding whether to upgrade my 2700X/X470/5700XT system to a brand new AM5/7700X or just upgrade my X470 board to X570S/B550 and a 5800X/5900X CPU, but either way I've been looking for new ATX 3.0 PSU (right now I'm running a Corair RM850x) and having trouble really finding much of a choice. I don't plan on getting a RTX4090 (or any card that expensive), but I'd just like to have the feature since I plan on using the PSU for the next 5 to 10 years, but again, very little choice and when you do find ATX3.0 models, they're expensive like this one...for $280, I'd expect at least 1200W and at least a platinum rating, not 1000W and a Gold rating.

Huh, so now MSI has a good PSU?
I wonder if those solders will get better on market products since you say this was an early sample.

The only great detailed PSU review in town!

Can you connect the 2x3 PCI-E and the 12VHPWR all together (in a hypothetical mining scenario)?

so, are this psu are much better than corsair rmx 1000w shift or seasonic gx 1000w ?? for rtx 3090 ti 24gb/rtx 4080 16gb/rtx 4090 24gb.....

Probably not, but it's alot cleaner looking with a designated cable for the high power 12v connector.

I'm using a cablemod custom cable with my Prime Tx 1000 with a 4090 no issue's

I have a couple buddies using similar cables with the 3090ti with a corsair rmx and a seasonic prime gold 1000 also 0 issues.

i love small PSU with BIG power like this MSi a1000w or seasonic gx 1000w or corsair rme 1000w, because they have very small size (Dimensions: 140 mm (L) x 150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H), its perfect for lian li case, just like my owm PC, but corsair rmx series, seasonic prime gx px tx series, etc, all of them has very big size.....

i think all PSU builder must design very small size of PSU's but with big power, just like 3 example of that PSU....

I sure hope not, with that noise level.
I get that it's noisier than most PSUs, but would you even be able to hear it over CPU & GPU cooling anyway? My assumption is that the fan ramps up when the system needs more power, which happens when the two most power-hungry components are hard at work. Since CPUs & GPUs at close to 100% loads produce a lot of heat, and their fans are usually in the 35 - 50dB range in such scenarios, would the PSU's 33 dB really matter?
