MSI's GeForce RTX 4080 Suprim X has the most powerful cooler of all the RTX 4080 cards that we've tested today. It's also whisper-quiet: we measured less than 27 dBA while running at full load, pushing out well over 60 FPS in 4K. Temperatures are excellent, too, even with those low noise levels.

Great review, as usual. For me, MSI is the clear winner of Lovelace GPUs so far, because their coolers work very well, plus the GPUs are reasonable in size. Many/most of the other GPUs are just way oversized and don't fit into many cases.

I'm not gonna lie, I've been a fan of MSI products for a long time, and these latest video cards they've been releasing just reaffirms that.

Yeh, they seem to be the quietest of the bunch as well.

Nice rewiew. I have one big question:

The problem with the high idle power consumption ... could it be a hardware problem? Other cards like the PNY didn't have this problem. As far as I know not all customers were facing such high idle power consumption. Could you test it with a similar model or with newer bios and software driver? Maybe it's fixed in the meanwhile.

This GPU is amazing. I just received it yesterday and since then I was playing with Afterburner. For now I applied a slight undervolt to 1,025 on 2910 clock resulting in much better temps then in your test (GPU temp 53; Mem. junc. 56; Hot spot 63 - all under pressure) and silent as the grave. I didn't touch memmory clock but I think I will go +1000MHz cause there is a space for that. So, for now I'm extremely happy with it. It wasn't cheap but I can see it was worth every penny.
