Margins with IEMs from China are much smaller than most people think, selling these at half the cost would not be feasible sadly.
ChiFi margins are abysmal really, they also cut corners and leave the warranty support to their vendors. Which is why they cost half as much for a similar product. Not that they are bad products, however what you get from a western maker that costs double as much is going to slaughter a ChiFi in terms of build quality, materials, support, and on and on. I'm including Japanese products in western here. The amount of companies that make drivers are small and they get tuned to the company. There's also the crossover to deal with and western companies tend to tune their stuff better, go with custom crossovers and get the best drivers. You do get what you are willing to pay for in this game.
$530 for an 8ba + DD configuration is cheap as fuck. Seems well built and has a good package with it. FWIW a western 4ba configuration is going to run you a grand on the cheap or about 1100 on the normal. They lack the DD which can be better or worse but you're still talking 4 drivers vs 9 per IEM. Granted hurling more drivers at something doesn't always mean it's better. If you like the tuning, what you get here is a very good value.
