The Corsair iCUE 5000D Airflow RGB takes the original 5000D Airflow through a few very subtle tweaks and adds the new AF120 Elite RGB fans into the mix. All at a cost lower than buying the individual pieces. Is pairing brand new fans with a two year old case trouble or a match made in heaven?

i thought to myself when I first got my 4000X “The only difference between the D, Airflow, and X is the front panel which is easily popped off. Why don’t they sell these individually to customize the case?”
Seems they finally got the memo.

Although it’s kind of ironic that they finally offer these airflow panels for individual sale (the replacement part listing on their website has been perpetually sold out for the 4000D) just as they offer an airflow RGB version of the case.

This is like a cheaper variant instead of buying the case and fans separately like I did.

I wondered when I bought the 5000X early 2022 why there wasn't fan mounts on top of the PSU shroud. Have considered modifying for two 120mm fans a few times but have not had the desire to go all in since the shroud doesn't come out. But now they release this case with the mounts already in the shroud. Now why couldn't they have done that on the 5000X? haha I refuse to buy the exact same case more or less for some holes in the shroud.

Can't wait to get the wooden panels to match my wooden case stand.

There was a tpu review last week of the updated 5000D that mentioned it had a less tinted/clear side panel.
I asked corsair support and they said the panels were the same. Did anyone pick up that icue 5000D and has any info about that? Possibly even side by side pics? I was surprised, since it did look less tinted in the review

Thanks
