MOONDROP goes the digital signal processing route with its budget-friendly $15 Quarks DSP IEMs to have preset EQ filters over a Type-C connector for better tuning than many expensive earphones. The Type-C also makes it easy to use with phones and laptops and provides an in-line microphone for further convenience.

I bought the OG non DSP quarks on a while a while back and for the price at the time, 10 bucks, they aren't bad at all. Sure it's a budget set with all that baggage but for the ask they aren't bad. I gift them to nieces and nephews over xmas still who cannot be trusted not to lose a 300 buck pair of IEMs.

Yeah that's mostly what I see this being bought for too.

So many amazing budget options now. I do really like sets with fixed cables and USB-C.
At least with the price, they become a every day carry item you can just throw around in case you need them.

It's a good deal of course. But for $20 you can get a 2pin cable with a lightning or c adapter. Granted different consumer target. The point of the quarks is cheap, but good. When I got them they didn't even come with silicone tips though. Moondrop produces rather high quality silicone tips and foam tips that they should be including with their stuff rather than the junk they do include.
