Chieftec BX-10B-OP

The Chieftec BX-10B-OP is an mATX chassis which offers glass panels on both sides and a sturdy metal body in combination with a non-standard layout to keep the size as compact as possible. Even so, it can still hold a 240 mm AIO as well as a full-size ATX PSU, which could make it a clean, understated option for your next mainstream build.

Thanks for the review, my first thought: A Jonsbo D30 with another front? :wtf:

Just a hint: A Fan on the bottom and the temperatures will be much better

I will always tend to Jonsbo if it comes to cases for Air Cooling, but my favourite is still the U5 with a Noctua D15 or the D15s ( Use one Fan on the D15 and it fits perfect)

What a mess of a case. About the only things that can be said for it is that it's understated, and cheap. But the thermals are so bad and some of the other design choices so bizarre that if you really want a decent mATX case, you'd be a lot better served by paying to get something that's a bit better thought out.

These cases can work extremely well, but they really work best with top + bottom fans as intake with a ventilated side + rear exhaust. Unfortunately manufacturers keep giving us glass sides.

I’ve always respected jonsbo quite a bit, and have enjoyed working with their cases, but always just almost liked the design enough to justify the cost, even with the quality machining and materials.

Why side exhaust as opposed to rear? Could you point to some cases? Not being facetious, just curious — I’ve never understood why people like side fans so much, but have never utilized those cases myself. Had an antec and a cm case that supported this but the fans were too small for my taste with antec and interfered with a GPU with the cm.

A little bit more ventilation, and a 280 mm radiator mount would make this the perfect case for me! It's still a close second behind my Kolink Citadel Mesh.

Hmm i come from Germany and Jonsbo is more on the lower end of the pricerange.
My last U5 was ~80,-€ and more robust than many cases with much higher pricetags...

Place side fans if you want, but the idea with a ventilated side (doesn't need to have a fan on extract)

A: Work with the airflow path of the GPU which exhausts out the 'top' of the card (i.e. into the side panel).
B: Create positive pressure in the case to aid in the extraction out the side of the case
C: Both the AIO on top & the GPU get cold air intake, rather than an AIO or CPU cooler getting fed hot air from the GPU. A CPU Cooler really requires the PSU to intake from the front rather than internal to the case, otherwise the PSU & CPU cooler will fight for air.

I am specifically talking about these short cases with a short total height. We've seen from ventilated sides in larger traditional layouts that you lose air from front fans from hitting the GPU.

The SAMA IM01 & Jonsbo D30 Black w/ Ventilated side are examples.

This is a rebranded FSP case wich is even better looking and has more airflow than this model, especially in the front section where PSU goes.

there are a million different brands you can get this same exact case under. i bought it as a "gamemax spark" case. paid about $60 shipped at amazon for it. it didn't come with any fans but i didn't want their fans anyway. it also comes branded as "Jonsbo D30". sometimes the front or the top is a little different, but the I/O and frame is exactly the same.

i really like it. it's a great alternative to ITX builds. ITX builds are overprices because the board are extremely expensive. you can get really nice mATX board for like $150 that do more than any ITX board. i built a fully water cooled system in it with a 7700x and 6800xt. 280mm rad at the top and 120mm rad at the back.

it's actually not. the FSP case is different. this is made by some chinese OEM i can't recall and sold to a bunch of different vendors.
