So recently my 3080 ti decided to fail it is in the hands of the manufacturer right now which is gigabyte I really hate their support now and want to switch because of that and the b580 is crazy a crazy price and I just want to try a intel gpu so I was wondering if this is a valid switch

It is significantly slower than a 3080ti and Intel GPUs are still not free of issues like way worse performance vs AMD/Nvidia in certain games.

Probably want to wait and see what the bigger new intel card will do (B770? B780? not sure what they are calling it yet...) will do. Vya is right, currently Intel doesn't have anything close to that 3080ti.

The 3080 Ti should be some 70% faster than the Arc B580. Not even remotely in the same weight class. But it'll do in a pinch, since it's actually pretty affordable. You could probably grab one to ride it out until either your card comes back or you buy a next-gen upgrade.

Big downgrade, and honestly I would doubt a B700 series card would even equal let alone best a 3080Ti.

Have you got anything you can use as a stop gap for 1-2 months? New cards from all camps are just around the corner.

I was just thinking this performance gap might close in a bit not a ton of course but the performance can only get better from the b580 with better drivers. I might also wait and see if their will be a better intel card as I might as well put this Rx 580 to use what do you guys think?
