The Atlas is Razer's first tempered glass mouse pad. Unlike most other glass pads, the Atlas comes with an oleophobic coating, and the micro-etched surface texture ensures optimal sensor tracking. At a size of 450 x 400 mm, the Atlas is 5 mm thick.

These things grind down mouse feet at an unbelievable rate. I mistakenly jumped on the sky pad hype train only to find myself replacing my feet (can't use glass on glass) every few months to avoid frame drag and clipping.

Never again.

I've never tried a glass pad before, but know about the SkyPad and such. I just don't play enough games these types of pads are geared towards (competitive FPS) to justify spending $100 on a mouse pad. I will say though, that I don't quite understand the pricing of this glass pad vs. Razer's own Strider RGB XL pad -- the latter goes for a whopping $150, which is just crazy. I know the Strider XL has a much larger overall surface, but still.

Is this supposed to be better than a glass cutting board? It's awfully expensive.

Uhh....did you read the review? This is a tempered glass mouse pad; glass pads are generally more expensive than cloth ones just because of the materials used.

Still a mousepad, if they discover platinum is the best for a pad, and they charge 300 USD for it, are you still ok because is platinum?

Yep echoing some of the other comments.....$100?

I could place my mouse on a A4 paper and still get fantastic performance out of my mouse. Not sure what type of mice people are using nowadays to invest in expensive mouse pads like these.

I dunno, maybe the "the good packaging" unboxing experience alone is worth $90

This forum is toxic. Dumbasses are comparing a glass pad to a cutting board or even an A4 paper.
I have a pulsar glass pad and several Artisan fiber pads. I'm satisfied with them in different scenarios.
If you don't have a glass pad but still wanna show your ignorance, okay fine.

That might be true.
Not a secret tho, overpriced glass pads are bad at competitive games, but sacrificing the performance for a super clean surface in return, that fits the cleanliness fetishes so well.
At least an option for work or casual games.

Let's see "being a dumbass for comparing glass pads to anything else" or "being a dumbass for spending $100 on a glass slab". I think there's a clear winner in the dumbass department here.

No doubt those pads are overpriced comparing to budget hot-swap keyboards or non-flagship gaming mice at same price. But spending money is not an issue to me and I got more experience on these shits.

Dumbasses IMO are those who comment on a thing they never tried, evulate things by imagination. There's no winner or loser, just nobody to each other.

I don't think you need to actually try these mouse pads to know you're not getting your money's worth

never had that issue with my SS glass mat, and i used it for over 8 years now my wife uses it with out that issue too.

Movement with mine was really nice how ever needed a bigger one and even though it feels smoother you can hear the pads on the mat.

Tracking on it was a 0 issue.

I wounder how long that coating will last.

This forum is toxic.

Toxic? No it wasn't

Dumbasses are.....

Toxic? Then it was

If you don't have a glass pad but still wanna show your ignorance, okay fine.

Nope I don't have one, will probably never buy into one unless "ground-breaking" tech innovations suggest incontestable benefits

Personally i admire soft surfaces for an added touch of comfort over aesthetics or set-piece minimal/negligible benefits. I've been seeing reviews of glass pads for years now... as well as user input/feedback and as a gamer i haven't seen anything concrete to go mouse-to-glass. I check these types of reviews to see how innovation is proving as i'm open to everything and anything. Full respect to those who have found meaningful use for the soft gliders and if they feel its money well-spent.

back to...

Dumbasses are.....

A good method to keep these forums lifted in good spirits, always treat fellow members as you would treat people in person...with respect! A high level of tolerance of varying opinions, i kid you not, makes the chat forum experience so much more appealing and seamless.

There are no dumbasses, it’s just asking if it’s reasonable to pay for something like this or not.
Some guy can play with a piece of paper, some like the glass slab. Me in between who can’t play competivly on a sheet or paper and never played on a glassslab, was just wondering what other think.
The review is very good and quite detailed, I was just interested in the opinion of others.
but it seems like I should give a try and speed three digits on something I never had just to make my own opinion.

I've got a Razer Firefly V2 that I only use occasionally simply because it's a hard pad that makes the ball joint on the back of my wrist ache after a while, and using a cloth wrist brace with it makes gliding extra noisy (plus I'm not sure how that would affect/scratch the pad with continued use). I gather I'd have a similar experience with a glass pad.

Another problem can be dirt too, although they clean real easy.

Seeing some wild comments here. No you're not an idiot for purchasing something that may suit your needs. Yes a glass pad can result in a better performance. If your game prioritizes tracking (Apex Legends, Overwatch) then the low starting friction and glide is amazing. If you need to flick (CS, Valorant) then a glass pad can work but you will have less control.

Get what suits your needs
