MOONDROP updates its popular budget-friendly IEMs, the CHU, with the new CHU 2 that ditches the fixed cable in favor of a standard 2-pin offering. It also uses a new dynamic driver to put out stronger bass and improves the treble response with the goal of being a new $20 IEM benchmark.

Are these better than the MOONDROP Quarks DSP?
Now do you see, it is not soo complicate to produce good sounding drivers with low budged.
Single 10mm drivers for 2000 € are insane.

More a side grade in terms of the sound and connection. Quarks DSP is tuned to Harman with more bass and treble while having flatter mids, gives a Type-C connector already, but can have background noise issues from the cheap DAC used.

Is there any in-ears that sound like the HD599s from sennheiser? I am currently aiming for the moondrop arias.

I feel the term "monitor" has been perverted.
First of all, it used to mean a display.

Some conpanies decided to name their extremely expensive professional speakers as "studio monitors".

Now some are naming even a 20$ in ear headphones as "monitors".

At this point monitor can mean anything and nothing.

Actually, studio monitors have probably been around more than display monitors. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_monitor

The word monitor here means a piece of equipment used to check/observe or record something. monitor definitions
In the case of a studio monitor, it's a piece of equipment used to check for problems in sound.
I can monitor my heart rate or monitor the growth of a plant; neither of those require a screen/electronic display.
This use of the word would predate any electronics. The use of the word monitor here has not been "perverted."

my main grip with the initial iteration was the fixed cable :)

also as i mentioned in the purchase thread ... i must have ordered them when i was drunk ... because idon't remember ordering them
not regreting it :rockout:

a worthy backup and they are easier to drive than the PR2 (not really needing the Amp i bought for the tape player, but they still sound good with it anyway )

edit ... i soooo want the box art you got
