The ASUS ROG GeForce RTX 4090 Matrix Platinum is the best RTX 4090 you can buy. For $3200 you get performance that's considerably faster than a plain RTX 4090, similar to what we're expecting for RTX 4090 Ti. Our review also confirms that the ASUS watercooling solution does a fantastic job at keeping the card cool and running at low noise levels.

You can buy a normal 4090, build the rest of a fairly high end PC and still end up below the 3200$ mark, ludicrous.

Or buy a 4090 put a block on it yourself and build the most overkill waterloop possible and basically get the same thing (actually better probably) and still fall under 3K.

Overkill and ludicrously expensive, but if you can't make something like this yourself, and you want something overkill, then the ludicrously expensive part probably won't matter that much to you, but parts like the board itself I doubt anyone can make by themselves.

The people that want this either know what they want, or wont care in the slightest, so good job asus on making this as overkill as you possibly could

According to ASUS, the ROG GeForce RTX 4090 Matrix Platinum comes at an MSRP of $3200, so double that of RTX 4090.

I mean, we all expected $2000. But fookin' 'ell. That's crazy.

Count on ASUS to make your eyes water.

Due to the pricepoint - I am confident, no to many of these will be made.

I do like the look of the product, and the performanceis nice.

I need to read though all the details of the card, but can you pull the card away from the factor radiator and insert into your own system?

But at $3200 bucks, I would get the A6000 with the 48GB of ECC before this card.

Impressive card, but once disassembled the water block looks extremely flimsy, even compared to some of the really dirt cheap stuff I have bought direct from China.

For the more capable it's going to be much better to get a reference card, a proper water block, and use the newly available firmware modding.

The strix liquid is $2200 so I expected $300-$500 more but $3200 is insane.

So, double the price but not double the frames over a standard 4090. What great value

You can build an enthusiast-level PC with a 4K144 monitor with the price of this. And it's not even a limited edition like 7800 GT Dual, ARES & MARS cards were back in the day.

Too bad Nvidia won't probably be launching the Ti version, they could release a similar model with an even higher price tag.

The $3,200 price is beyond absurd given the measly 8% advantage at 4K over a regular 4090. This is clearly a product made solely for bragging rights.

Being a perf/cost consumer, I am evidently not the target audience. For 4K gaming the 7900XTX offers 74% performance of this craziness at a quarter of its price:

The Supreme X is quieter. So is the Strix OC.

The Matrix is 8.7% faster than the FE at 4k.
The Strix and Supreme are 3% faster.

Is that 5.7% uplift worth over $1000?

Then again, the MSI Gaming X is 4% faster than the FE (and as quiet, and quieter than the Matrix). So over that, the Matrix has only a 4.7% perf advantage.

I don't normally get into stats but for this cash grab, it felt important.

Awesome review @W1zzard , thank you.
Holy price gouge  , $3,200 US Dollars ... You can buy a very nice used car over here with that money :D , what are they thinking at Asus :slap: , lol

For that price you can buy the cheapest rtx 4090 ( $1,600US Dollars ) and a cheap Bykski fc water block ( $120US Dollars ) , flash Galax 666w extreme bios and you will have a faster card than this matrix
:p
, this is exactly what i did :toast:
:D
lol .

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
Lovely piece of kit but it's 8.5% faster than a 450W 4090, which also has a 600W power limit option to gain 4.5% too.

That additional $1600 is buying you 4% more performance, not that I think anyone spending $3200 really cares about having the performance, they likely just want it to show off to people.

Only $3200. That's cheap, LOOL

I expect Asus couldn't afford make a new re-designed PCB with dual 12VHPWR connectors for this Matrix card (Can't do that within the 3200$ MSRP). Hence they had to cap the TGP at 600W to follow specs. Anyone know why Nvidia don't allow for more power from the PCIe slot? Hmm, maybe Nvidia is afraid for power spikes in the PCIe slot?

Well it's a matrix card so it's logic that it's too daamn expensive

The card in itself doesn't have any sense
