AGON by AOC - one of the world's leading gaming monitor and IT accessories brands - announces the AOC GAMING CQ27G2S/BK, a 27" (68.6 cm) QHD curved gaming monitor meticulously designed to combine the most sought-out features of the gaming scene. The CQ27G2S/BK hits the sweet spot for gamers seeking an immersive QHD gaming experience at an exciting 165 Hz refresh rate, on a large 27" display size with 1500R curvature. At its heart is a VA panel, which delivers a high contrast of 3000:1, making this gaming monitor a balanced canvas for diverse game genres, movies, and more, all while delivering top performance at an exceptional value.

The CQ27G2S/BK boasts a captivating VA panel with a 1500R curvature, creating a panoramic field of view that envelops users in a world of visual splendor. With a stunningly sharp QHD (2560x1440) resolution and a swift 165 Hz refresh rate, gamers are primed to enjoy an ultra-smooth gameplay experience. The monitor's 4 ms GtG (Grey to Grey) response time and lightning-fast 1 ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) ensure that every motion is rendered with unparalleled clarity, whether gamers are exploring vibrant open world games or engaging in competitive battles in tight corners.

Rich colours, subtle curvature, high versatility
Users can bask in the brilliance of HDR10 support, as the CQ27G2S/BK paints scenes with a dynamic range of colours and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Lifelike visuals truly draw gamers in, with shadow and highlight details popping off the screen for an immersive experience. The Adaptive-Sync technology eliminates screen tearing, maintaining fluidity during intense gaming moments.

Boasting an exceptional 99% sRGB coverage, the CQ27G2S/BK unlocks a world of possibilities beyond just gaming. Its incredible colour gamut feature not only elevates your gaming adventures but also empowers your graphic projects, all rendered with high colour accuracy. The monitor's low input lag ensures the actions of the users translate into on-screen reactions instantaneously, providing a distinct competitive edge.

A versatile monitor for all things gaming and everyday tasks, the CQ27G2S/BK is equipped with an ergonomic stand that offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments, allowing users to customise their setup for the ultimate comfort. Whether embarking on a marathon gaming session or engaging in lengthy work tasks, the monitor adapts to the users' needs.

When gaming into the late hours, the monitor's Flicker-Free technology and Low Blue Light mode contribute to reducing eye strain during extended usage, ensuring that users' well-being remains a priority. The monitor also includes many gaming-related features in its OSD, such as Shadow Control, allowing gamers to adjust shadow levels for enhanced visibility in dimly lit scenes or vice versa. A crosshair overlay (Dial Point) enables gamers to aim accurately in FPS games where a crosshair is lacking. OSD features can also be adjusted using the AOC G-Menu software.

The AOC GAMING CQ27G2S/BK will be available for purchase from the end of September 2023, at an MSRP of £219.99.

HDR10 should die, and VESA qualification should be incredibly more strict than it is now.
10 bit depth is nice, being able to falsely advertise HDR just because you have 10 bit colour is not.
HDR is incredibly nice when applied to a proper HDR screen, but since anything can be advertised as such, people will be lead to falsely think that HDR is bollocks and a marketing gimmick, which is not it in the slightest.
