Lenovo today announced the worldwide availability of the ThinkPad X1 Fold starting from $2,499 USD. Designed to offer full PC performance on a large foldable 16.3" display while maintaining the ultra-portability that a foldable form factor offers.

Announced in September 2022, ThinkPad X1 Fold has undergone significant real world user testing through a comprehensive system verification process, resulting in several incremental improvements to further enhance the category's user experience in line with the quality and functionality that ThinkPad is known for. Revisions to audio and video functions, more seamless mode switching, and refinements to TrackPoint usability. More consistent Computer Vision functionality through the AI-assisted Visual Sensing Controller by Intel offers seamless human presence detection and auto lock on leave for added security and battery management. The testing process also allowed us to make subtle cosmetic improvements to further enhance the Mil-Spec tested durability. For more details on the process and improvements, check out the blog post by Jerry Paradise, VP Commercial Portfolio and Product Management, Lenovo.

ThinkPad X1 Fold features a 16.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560×2024 and offers up to 32 GB LPDDR5 with up to 1 TB SSD storage and ships in 100% plastic free packaging. X1 Fold is powered by an Intel processor that dynamically adjusts power consumption and is preloaded with Windows 11. Combined with excellent connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G, ThinkPad X1 Fold is a powerful and versatile portable laptop that can comfortably be used as a primary PC at work, at home or anywhere in between.

ThinkPad X1 Fold is available now from lenovo.com and other select Lenovo resellers, starting from $2,499 USD.

Way too big to use as a tablet unfolded. The Surface Neo seemed like the perfect size at 13" unfolded. I'm surprised no one has imitated that form factor. Both in terms of screen size and thinness.

I would rather buy a fold phone like Oneplus Open or Samsung Fold 5 than a fold tablet with Windows 11. It's cheaper, consumes less power, still performs decent, & does all the same functions you would want to expect from this device.

And again AMD isn't in the game, while Intel goes with an inferior platform (except for the thunderbolt).
