Sure 500 dollars is a lot for your average PC builder/gamer but when your looking at 4090s/threadrippers/AI workstations etc this makes far more sense there.

It has to be said that it's easy to offer a 12 years warranty with a tag price of 500 dollars. Actually, you can even avoid to improve quality at all: you can simply accept an higher long-term RMA volume, because of all the money you banked in first place. To be clear, I'm not saying that this is the case, because I love Seasonic (to date, mine has been running for 11 years!).

True but when you are also one of the largest OEM/ODMs for the PSU market you have to be able to back up your claims realistically.

Yup, passive operation up to 800 W is underrated. Peak efficiency is around ~50% load too so...

Years ago one could over pay for a PSU to give themselves peace of mind they buying a quality component to last that feeds their entire rig, however now I feel the ATX and connector spec is in a unstable state, so wouldnt be so confident of long term life out of it.

You could notice that the format of whole review is significantly different compared to previous reviews which iirc were done by Aris from HWBusters/Cybernetics. (which i personally found more detailed and comprehensive)
This is is done by the recently hired reviewer (notice account creation date is roughly half a year ago). Therefore there is need for more units to be reviews so that the data is Ycomparable.

Kinda on the same bandwagon PSUs in all rigs are Seasonic and ideally future ones too, mainly because i don't have to worry about cabling and can swap the PSU easily as i wish.

Thanks for the review - This is what, your 2nd, 3rd review for TPU now?
I know it's outside your control at the moment but I'm thinking that PSU reviews are enhanced so much by comparison data - how feasible would it be to reach out to EVGA, Corsair, Seasonic, etc and see if they can send you one or two of their best-selling models? TPU is a respected site for PSU reviews thanks to @crmaris' history and it would be good to use that reputation to your advantage.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a thing that PSU makers and cable manufacturers try before too long, given that Nvidia seems hell-bent on trying to jam twice as much current down connectors that are half the size....

Well obviously, I was just wondering if that's a good enough reason for PSU manufacturer marketing departments to allocate TPU some review samples. They'll get the longest possible amount of exposure since it's right after the testing methodology reset.

I'm sure it's not that simple, but with my dealings with AMD, Intel, and Nvidia reps, if you don't ask, you don't get anything!
