As we enter the last week of November and the first day of December, we might not have any AAA releases, but this week's major release does nonetheless hold a high production value and promises something a bit different when it comes to WWII RTS games. This week's other releases involve shapes, a JRPG, a retro FPS, something to do with the Sheriff of Nottingham and finally a world of steam.

Last Train Home / This week's major release / Tuesday 28 November
Embark on a desperate mission through the depths of a war-torn wasteland. Your goal is to guide Czechoslovak soldiers back home onboard an armored train, but the path ahead is fraught with peril. Caught in the middle of a brutal civil war between Russia's Red and White Armies, your unit must remain in fighting shape, managing what little resources you have and maintaining morale at all costs. Venture through the bleak and unforgiving landscape of Siberia, where the freezing cold and the merciless environment will push you to your very limit. Resources are scarce and your crew is exhausted, but you must keep pushing forward.

Suika Shapes / Monday 27 November
In Suika Shapes, match two shapes of the same color to create a larger shape and increase your score. Careful though, the more you play, the less space you have. Match a variety of colorful shapes in an ever-enclosing space in this addicting match two puzzle game.

Noctuary / Tuesday 28 November
Two young illuminators, Fancia and Alina, start their adventure in the bright and fascinating Inlixaland......in pursuit of becoming trustworthy "Arborangers."

Wizordum / Wednesday 29 November
The Ancient Seal of Terrabruma has shattered, unleashing the forces of Chaos once more. As one of the last Mages of Wizordum sanctuary, you must embark on a quest to find the source of this corruption and push the Chaos back before they consume the kingdom in a speedrun-friendly fantasy FPS tearing a page from the spellbooks of '90s fantasy FPS classics like Hexen and Heretic.

Gangs of Sherwood / Thursday 30 November
Fight the armies of the Sheriff of Nottingham and lead the rebellion, solo or in co-op with up to 4 players. Play as one of the Merry Men, combine your attacks, and free the people in this futuristic dystopia inspired by the legend of Robin Hood.

SteamWorld Build / Friday 1 December
Break ground on a new frontier as the planet dies around you! Dig deep and build wide to excavate long-lost spacefaring technology, while ensuring everyone has the vital water, fuel and creature comforts they need! Do you have what it takes to reach the final frontier?

Last train home looks interesting, so wishlisted. I'm currently heavily invested in The Talos Principle 2 so I doubt I'll buy any games (this year).

Gangs of Sherwood looks interesting.

Also looking forward to it. There's a chance for a better Vermin-/Darktide (except it's 3rd person view). Hope there's no in-game shop...

There is a Last Train Home demo on Steam. I REALLY enjoyed it. The game is definitely on my short list.

The only similarity between Gangs of Sherwood and Vermintide/Darktide is that they're co-op games with player hubs. Gameplay wise, they're nothing like each other.

that steamworld thing looks relaxing enough to try.

the sherwood one is a console port, in the video you can even see the controller hints, that makes it a hard pass for me i don't do trash ports.

last train home also looks.. interesting.

"green steam" is going to be hard at work with these games thanks to steam's crap policies
