Titan Forge Games and Hi-Rez Studios have made the biggest announcement in SMITE history—SMITE 2! Become a god and wage war in SMITE 2, the Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel to the legendary third-person action MOBA. If you love rewarding teamwork, challenging competition, intense action, ability-driven third-person combat, or godly mythology, you'll see why 40+ million players love SMITE.

SMITE, EVOLVED
More than 40 million players have enjoyed SMITE. Now the next generation of action MOBA begins, with immersive next-gen visuals powered by UE5, more impactful combat, and new creative gameplay options to shape the game in your own way.

Fight as a God
Choose your God from across mythology and wield unique godly abilities. Hurl bolts of lightning as Zeus, master the arcane powers of death as Anubis, or backstab your foes as Loki.

The Third-Person Action MOBA
No other game offers combat that feels like your favorite hero shooter, crossed with the deep strategy you can only find in a 5v5 MOBA. Feel the impact of every shot, sneak up on enemies, and combo abilities with teammates to take down the enemy Titan.

PLAYS GREAT, EVERYWHERE
SMITE 2 is the only MOBA designed from the start to play amazingly on keyboard and mouse, controller, or SteamDeck. SMITE 2 features full cross-play and cross-progression, so you can play with friends regardless of platform and take your unlocks with you from PC to console.

SMITE 2 enters Alpha later this year! Get all the details from the SMITE 2024 Keynote, and be sure to wishlist and sign up for Alpha testing today at smite2.com!

Become Godlike in SMITE, the free-to-play action MOBA featuring legendary mythological icons. Wield Thor's hammer, turn your foes to stone as Medusa, or flex your divine power as one of 100+ playable Gods. No matter your skill level, SMITE has something for you! Join over 35 million players around the world across PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch - what are you waiting for? Go Ahead. Play God!

What are you even talking about? Smite has been very popular since its inception, and remains one of the most popular mobas, still having a pro league. Contrary to other hyped games with a "sequel", where the only thing that really changed is the number "2" after the name.

This is a little more complicated than you think.

Popularity doesn't mean s*** if company can't monetize it properly.

Actually, large playerbase then makes things WORSE, as they incur load on servers, increasing operating costs, but not revenue.

You may not care rn, but you will when company pulls the plug on the game.

This is what happened to one of my favorite MOBAs, Gigantic, a few years ago.

Overwatch has had order of magnitude of players more than Smite, yet also struggled with that and had to switch to F2P.

Meanwhile likes of LoL and Fortnite are milking their playerbase for all they can. And LoL is what, 15 years old now?
