AVerMedia Technologies, a leader in digital audiovisual solutions, today announced a firmware update for its well-received HDMI 2.1 USB Capture Card, Live Gamer ULTRA 2.1. The update gives users three new features - including 5.1 multi-channel audio pass-through and capture - fulfilling some highly wished-for upgrades of the capture card, making it even more powerful.

"We're constantly listening to our customers to ensure that we're bringing nothing but the best to the table," said Michael Kuo, President and CEO of AVerMedia. "Now, with the three added features, creators can take their content creation and gaming experience to greater heights."

5.1 Multi-Channel Audio Pass-Through And Capture
Be ready to immerse in the rich, detailed sound of your gameplay. With the stunning 5.1 multi-channel surround sound pass-through and capturing feature (this feature works on Windows operating systems with AVerMedia RECentral software or OBS), you can not only enjoy an enhanced gaming experience but also provide the best viewing experience for your audience!

4K144 Capture (Windows) And 4K60 Capture (macOS)
Elevate your game capture capability instantly and capture up to 4K144 (MJPEG) via the RECentral software on Windows and 4K60 (MJPEG) via OBS on Mac. These two new capturing options provide more flexibility for your content creation.

Windows Dynamic Lighting Compatibility
Gain a new level of control over your RGB lighting through Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting. Showcase your unique style and individuality with this new personalization option.

Also, as a way of giving back to the gaming community for their support, AVerMedia is lowering the price of its Live Gamer ULTRA 2.1 to USD $269.99. The Live Gamer ULTRA 2.1 is available on AVerMedia online store, Amazon, and authorized retailers and distributors.

Funny. And where are your PCIe DVB-T/C/S cards?

Lack of Linux support is really disappointing. I have now switched to Linux but finding a compatible capture card has been annoying.

It functions as UVC capable device. It will plug and play with Linux, just not with the new feature settings are only enabled with their proprietary software for capture/playback, so never will be on Linux because Avermedia and Elgato both just hate anything but Windows.

Whatever resolution settings it says for Mac should be what you get.
