DDR5 is usually not soldered. Only LPDDRx memory is soldered, although with LPCAMM2 that will hopefully start to change too.
Also, this is a workstation level laptop, so even less chance of soldered RAM.

Take a look at the previous generation(s) of AMD APU-equipped ThinkPad.
Soldered-in (LP)DDR5 with a single SODIMM expansion.

I almost bought a $300ish AMD 6840-equipped laptop a week or two ago. The lack full RAM expansion on any 'real' ThinkPad was a deal-killer. After researching the competing HP ProBook options and their quality issues, I just gave up on looking.

It's bad enough the industry took away easy-swappable batteries; I won't buy a Laptop PC without the bare minimum of expansion/upgrade options.

Well, faster memory lead to SODIMMs being impossible to use, which is why we now have the various CAMM standards.
Yes, DDR5 can be soldered, but we've seen this with DDR4 and even DDR3 in laptops, although most of those had a SODIMM slot as well.
This model has two SODIMM slots though, but it's "limited" to one drive.

Also, good thing you made me check the specs, as the press release mentioned an 8k OLED display option, turns out Lenovo dropped the 2. part in the press release...
I was thinking that was a bit silly on a 14" display...

Very nice looking laptop and CPU selection. I think the ThinkPad T14S is my current favorite still.
