Japan-based audio powerhouse final adds to its growing wireless ANC headphones lineup with the UX2000. It shares a lot with the more expensive UX3000, but goes for a more mainstream bassy sound signature to target a different customer base while still boasting decent active noise cancellation and onboard physical controls.

Until I read your review of the Final UX2000, I'd never heard of shibo coating and had to look it up. My dictionary tells me that 'shibo' is used to describe the rough finish of woven material or handmade paper.

If I had to choose between the UX2000 and UX3000 on finish alone, I'd definitely pick the smooth matte of the UX2000. Noise cancelling and sound reproduction apart, the floating headband would, however, be a instant deal-breaker. I assume it was a deliberate design choice, but what the designers had in mind, I can't imagine.

To be honest, visually it's just another Takstar Pro 82 clone. And judging just by the metrics, the UX3000 is a much better choice for a small price jump.

I'm not familiar with the Takstar brand so I took a look at its website. The top page directs visitors to either consumer audio products or Takstar's OEM services to other manufacturers.

Would you know if Takstar is one of those companies whose drivers and assemblies end up in multiple Chinese (or maybe even Japanese) clones?

I've had my suspicions about the recent proliferation of headphones and IEMs with identical specifications but have no insider information about who makes what for whom.
