God of War Ragnarök will be coming to PC on September 19, 2024! Santa Monica Studio's development partner for God of War (2018) on PC, Jetpack Interactive, is back to help deliver the PC version of God of War Ragnarök. Alongside the release date, we'd also like to share a selection of the features that will be available (Account for PlayStation Network is required).

Because it is Sony. They are stupid yes. Historically it has been so, they are not willing to fix it and pay local taxes.

Their support level and solving problem attitude... they are on ASUS level there.

Digital licensing is so stupid at times, they only look at the literal geolocalisation, without taking into account the specificities of overseas territory. I would not expect another Playstation game to launch on PC without PSN. Helldivers 2 taught them that setting expectations is important and letting people meander into PSN is just going to cause outrage. Best to just slap it on there on Day 1 rather than risk Steam okaying refunds because of a change down the road. Anybody mad because they can't play because of where they live and no PSN, well, blame the people who live in places where PSN exists and they just didn't want to log in. They're the ones that made Steam do refunds en masse (supposedly in solidarity with the very people they've now forced Sony into denying them games wholesale) and scared Sony with lots of chargebacks into forcing PSN onto everything not nailed down. Thus, setting expectations going forward for everyone. People in regions without PSN now know they won't be sold the game and people in regions with PSN now know they must log in to that service they probably already have a login for.

That's what Sony meant when they said they were still learning about PC gamers after they caved on Helldivers 2. But they're learning fast and they're probably leery of Steam now because of the HD2 experience as a whole. I'm betting they rush the Playstation PC Storefront out a couple years sooner than they originally intended.

Edit: Actually I wish they would show the same backbone and enforce the limitations they seem to enjoy on all their platforms. That would be very fun to watch.
