The NZXT H5 Flow RGB (2024) is more than a simple refresh of the variant that launched just over a year ago. Employing a unified three fan design along with clean aesthetics, the H5 Flow RGB (2024) is the first of the H-series to add a new, unique design element to the company's range of enclosures.

IO makes it a hard pass for its asking price, given there are handful of boards with those stupid rear connectors and no standardization on placement across brands makes its a useless feature at best.

Hm, not really it. The lack of IO, lack of backside connectors (though acceptable since it's very new) and lack of 360 support on top. The single frame fans are cool and look pleasing but a nightmare if one fan dies. I honestly prefer the Unifan/iCUE link system of connecting fans, much more flexible yet still good in looks.

Is the F360 fan a positive point? It's obviously a cost-saving measure and from what I can tell you get multiple disadvantages but the only advantage is cleaner looks, which fan manufacturers have solved in other ways via pogo-pins or perfect-length pigtails - and arguably you can solve yourself just by routing the cables completely out of sight anyway. They manage to spoil the clean looks by using black screws in an all-white case, anyway :\

As for downsides;
  • if one fan develops play, an imbalance, or other fault - you must throw out three fans.
  • increased resonance - each fan impeller is going to be imperfectly balanced, and the shared frame will mean that the imbalance will most likely sync up (link)
  • you can't reverse the top fan (useful for blow-through GPU designs where you don't want case airflow to push hot GPU exhaust through a CPU air cooler
