JBL Announces the Tour PRO 3 with Auracast Support and Audio Transmitting Charging Case

Hate these "True" wireless earphones, but that addition of display on case is even worse. Sweaty/wet pockets end up providing a lot phantom inputs or damaging touchscreens(have replaced displays on phones thanks to sweat leading to long term damage).

You do understand the reason for it here though, no? The case can act as an audio transmitter when connected to devices that lack Bluetooth and with Auracast you can even broadcast to multiple devices at once.
Personally I'm a huge fan of my Sony TWS earbuds, even though they have an expiration rate like all these products, due to the batteries not being user replaceable.

Personally I'm a huge fan of my Sony TWS earbuds, even though they have an expiration rate like all these products, due to the batteries not being user replaceable.

Its not just the batteries that are a problem but also tendency of those earbuds to be easily misplaced, I regularly find them in random public places(most recent one was in a bus). Personally I am using JBL cheapest wireless earphones(215BT) just for calls. So that case is similar to any desktop wireless device that comes with USB trasmitter but with a battery(which also has expiration).

I was about say... if you sweat enough to damage electronics/produce phantom input, whatever you are doing seems to require special gear . If it's because of the heatwave, I don't think we've reached a point yet where hardware manufacturers will design consumer-level gear to operate in +50°c conditions. Not until that becomes a common occurrence in the West at least.

I was in Europe when some of those +40°c heatwaves were going on, It's hot, but not the same kind of hot that you would feel in the tropic, it's very dry, and it's easier for sweat to turn into salt.
Near 50°c in the tropics is insane.

The only moment where you'll convince people (and companies) that they need tropicalized gear is when the regular stuff will be guaranteed to malfunction, and from my exp, they can still take the abuse...for now. I mean, AC still didn't manage to have a breakthrough in many parts of Europe because they don't feel like it's worth investing in something that is only going to be used for a couple of months each year. They would rather invest in sun-blocking blinds.

Meanwhile, I live on an island that never saw temperatures higher than 36°c, but AC is very common because it's just a bit hot all the time
