Sanctioned DeepCool Products Resurface on US Retailer Sites Under New Brand

Latest reports indicate that sanctioned Chinese PC hardware manufacturer DeepCool's products have appeared on major US online marketplaces under the brand "Shaking Tank," as revealed by YouTuber Greg Salazar on social media platform X. This comes two months after the US State Department sanctioned DeepCool for alleged business with Russian firms involved in the Ukraine conflict, barring US sales and imports of their products. Despite this, retailers like Amazon and Newegg list apparent DeepCool products under the Shaking Tank brand. These listings show product renders with the DeepCool logo blurred or removed. Fan hubs previously displaying the DeepCool emblem now show blank spaces, and product packaging has obscured identifying marks. Examples include the DeepCool AK620 and LS720 models, now advertised as ShakingTank AK620 and LS720.

The nature of this rebranding still needs to be clarified. While DeepCool adopting a new name to bypass sanctions would likely face severe legal consequences, more plausible explanations include a reseller rebranding remaining inventory or retailers clearing sanctioned stock. This situation questions trade sanctions' effectiveness and enforcement in the global marketplace, leaving consumers uncertain about DeepCool's future in the US market and potential impacts on international trade regulations.

Looking at those ShakingTank (Deepcool) coolers on Amazon just now and I came across this cooler. Anyone here know anything about it? I've never heard of 'upHere' until seeing this just now.

Uphere is a cheap Chinese brand. I've seen their fans on Amazon before.

The direct-touch design looks great, but those heat pipes are so wide, that only the two in the middle will directly touch the hot spots on CPUs with terrible chiplets' placement, such as the Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 9000.

I used those Noctua Offset Brackets on my used NH-D15 Cooler.

there was no difference in practise for several months. With different thermal paste from different manufacturers.

This is just a marketing hoax from Noctua in my point of view as an owner of that product.

When you use thermal paste, you see where it touched the cpu die and the cooler.

At the end of the day I expect no overheating. NH-D15 overheats with and without that offset bracket. Be Quiet Cooler, which I use now, also overheats.
Air cooling has its limits with previous AMD Ryzen 5800X (Noctua and Arctic) or with my Current AMD Ryzen 7600X (for Noctua and BeQuiet)

I am sorry to say, but if you get actual overheating (i.e thermal throttling) on the 5800X or 7600X with a D15 it’s either a scuffed cooler (apparently not, since you tried others) or crippling user error.
That is, unless what you mean by “overheating” is “the CPU runs hotter than expected”, in which case this is just Zen doing Zen things.

I have yet to understand just what malpractice DeepCool has engaged in, but my LS720 SE Infinity is a fantastic cooler.

It is rumored that Deepcool sold some parts to russia.

Deepcool never interested me, I buy Thermalright aircoolers or Arctic AIOs. They are better and cheaper. :D

Who can say they're surprised? Amazon is full of these products. One product design sold under 5 different poorly translated brand names.

Deepcool or not, I still wouldn't buy it. I don't think their products have ever fetched reasonable prices in Canada compared to any Thermalright product on Amazon. AK620 has always ranged from like twice to thrice the price of a PA120/PS120.

Dunno, works just fine for a minor ~1-2C difference on U12A here. I don't think they or anyone else making offset brackets ever said it would be a game-changer. They bundle it with coolers now.

Everybody knows 5800X has density issues that pretty much can't be overcome ever without dialing in more reasonable limits. Everybody knows 7600X is much the same, except it also wants to go to 95C. Sounds like you just haven't put in the necessary work with those two CPUs.

I have two Deepcool power supply units, and they are the best performance/quality/price.

overheating”

I think I should have written, some cores hit the temperature limit and than downclock a bit. I'm sorry. According to HWinfo64.exe in Windows 11 Pro while gaming.

you just haven't put in the necessary work with those two CPUs.

I agree on that point 100%.

I had some random crashes recently only in Gnu + Linux. windows never experience that effect.

RAM tuning is kinda easier than tuning the processor.

--

In my experience - there was hardly a noticeable difference with the Noctua Offset bracket while compiling the same package with the same toolchain. There was hardly a MHz increase according to /proc/cpuinfo before and after those Offset brackets.
Therefore in my point of view, those offset brackets are a marketing hoax. I had my fun buying and testing it. I'll not recommend it.

I also repeated that later after a few months with another thermal paste over several days to verify that result for myself.

A noticeable, worthy difference would have been a 90 - 100MHz increase after the mounting brackets. Fluctuation in the range of 10-20MHz all core are in the range of an error

IMO I would be checking both mating surfaces with a torch and a straight edge like a razor blade or metal ruler. Either your IHS is warped or the base on the D-15 hasnt been machined correctly so its not mating up correctly when its mounted.

But since you also say your BeQuiet cooler also overheats. I suspect your IHS could be warped/uneven, using the wrong mounting hardware/mounted incorrectly or you could possibly benefit from washer mod for more mounting pressure.

Worst case scenario maybe your CPU could benefit from a little lapping of the IHS because this doesnt sound normal at all.

::EDIT::

Also. consider testing out a AM5 cheap contact frame. Just in case theres some flexing/warping going on with your MB when the coolers are mounted.

Yes, so I'm told. But beyond that, very little has been explained in detail. I think this game of sanctions is stupid. My last was an Arctic AIO. This looks so much better, I like aesthetic builds, and it has similar performance. Still, Arctic is unbeatable value can't disagree with that.
