NuPhy shakes up the keyboard market by being the first in the world to use low profile magnetic/Hall effect switches. Offering two excellent switch options which also solve the wobbling issue of most full-size magnetic switches, the new NuPhy Air60 HE also uses a cool web-based configurator for extensive customization.

First of all, big thanks to @VSG for the review. Especially since I bugged him to get this one from NuPhy personally. Good man, kind man, absolute lad.

Anyway. Absolute banger of a keyboard. If one is willing to go with the 60% layout and has no need for wireless it can very much be an endgame board. The fact that the LP switches turned out as well as they did makes it, honestly, an incredible choice. I still think that LP boards are more ergonomic than full height ones and would stand by that. And it’s also so… fully featured. The web based software is incredibly solid, honestly surprising how NuPhy has knocked it out of the park immediately on the first try even when they did not have previous experience in the field. Couple with the very, very attractive price, well… Dare I say it? I think we have the first actual legit, unironic and non-compromising Wooting competitor on our hands.

Hell, I don’t really need a new board and yet… I am tempted to immediately place an order. Very tempted.

This is such a well rounded keyboard. Any mobile and 60% form factor lover should definitely keep this on their short list. I'm waiting for a 75 or 80 percent version myself but I have indeed used this and a huge thumbs up from me.

I think it looks great with all black key caps.

What ever happened to optical switches? I thought those were going to be the next big thing, but it didn't seem to get very popular

@illli
More complex and expensive to manufacture than various standard mechs without having the benefits of HE switches that are now taking over as the “more premium” option. They just became redundant. There was a very short window of time when they’ve been a viable option.

Some, such as Razer, are still using them. Most others are on the magnetic switch train now.

As I'm visually impaired a great deal, those large font keycaps are FANTASTIC! :clap:

Waiting for HE 75%, wireless low profile then I'm sold. Wonder who's going to make it first Keychron or Nuphy.
