Ooof. It’s a good price in theory, but the execution of the product… yeah, no. The fact that you can get vastly better mice, some even wireless, for 10 more dollars is just the icing on the cake. Sure, they won’t have 8K polling, but when the basics on this are THIS scuffed does that even matter? 17 ms of click latency, what the actual hell.

@pzogel You think you got a dud model with the mouse buttons/switches? Because their previous model (K1NG 4K Pro) was not bad at all from your testing.

Doubt it, since the switches are the same and within usual unit-to-unit variance. The latency comes from the firmware, so only a firmware fix could help here.

Thats a good thing since its not a physical issue. Hopefully Redragon gets on top of it because 8K polling and PAW3395 at under $40 is pretty good.

Won’t fix the dogshit cable, unfortunately. If it’s as bad as I think, that alone would make the mouse unpleasant to use.

Just change the cable. It's detachable and the port on the mouse is USB-C.

A good paracord will, as mentioned in the review, already set you back 10-15 bucks, let alone the one that will be fine for 8K. Suddenly, you have a 50 bucks or more mouse. I don’t think that’s worth jumping through hoops for when, at that point, you can just outright buy a better one.

It's just $10 for a significantly better cable. Still at the level of pittance really, especially when this is aimed at eSports/sweats who have far more expensive options that still may not be worth it (e.g. Logitech, Razer, etc.). If they want to avoid this altogether the K1NG 4K Pro exists with a better cable and 2.4G wireless and the same sensor with better tuning, just without 8K polling and slightly heavier.

Most paracord cables made for gaming mice support 8K polling unless you get ones longer than 1.5m.

Not sure why we are going straight into Logi and Razer overpriced options. Those aren’t the only ones out there, far from it. Stuff like the VXE R1 Pro exists for said sweats on a budget. Redragon are not the only game in town. I agree that the K1ng 4K Pro is an OK option, CPI deviation notwithstanding. But this one, the wired version, feels like a trap choice - it’s not really as cheap as it seems if you actually want to use it and 8K is, realistically, mostly a pointless gimmick. Sweats on a budget don’t run 360Hz+ screens where that would make any difference whatsoever.

Logitech and Razer are the most noticeable and marketed options in general. I know there are off-brand and not-so-famous brands like Ninjutso (which the Sora is similar to the VXE you mentioned) and Kysona that don't share the same spotlight but use the same parts that are priced better. And yes I agree that 8K is overkill (and currently useless) for even 240Hz monitors, but 2K seems to be the sweet spot for 240+Hz, especially if the games support proper raw input like Overwatch and Apex.

Yeah, and in exchange, their products are pretty shitty, and meh at best.
