I'm somewhat confused about this review. It claims that this mouse's polling rate is very unstable in wireless mode - so unstable in fact, that it's stated that there wasn't even a point of measuring motion delay in wireless mode; which some might consider the single most important metric for such a mouse. Assuming that many of this mouse's potential buyers (I would imagine vast majority) would intend to use this mouse solely in wireless mode, I can't understand how it got a GREAT VALUE badge.
It sounds to me like this mouse is borderline unusable for its declared purposes of "elite gaming performance".
... or am I over exaggerating?
Unusable is definitely an exaggeration, in fact I would expect most people to not even notice anything. The Aria II Pro is not a top performer, which is why it misses the Recommended award, but for what is on offer, the pricing is quite good (one could argue a "quite good value" award would be more appropriate). Consider that other manufacturers like Glorious, Pwnage, ASUS, and many others all charge upwards of $100 for wired/wireless 8K, and other wired/wireless 8K mice such as the Rapoo VT3Pro/VT9 Air for $59.99 are clearly worse performers, even with the issues the Aria II Pro has, and the VT9 Air at least got the award as well.
I agree, however, that an argument for not giving that award could be made, and I indeed was going back and forth on it. On balance, I believe giving it is justified.
