QNAP Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking, and storage solutions innovator, has enhanced its AMIZcloud management platform with support for remote switch monitoring, significantly simplifying enterprise network management and reducing equipment maintenance costs. Currently, supported switch models include: QSW-M3224-24T, QSW-IM3216-8S8T, QSW-M3216R-8S8T, QSW-M3212R-8S4T and QSW-M7308R-4X, with more switches to be supported in the future.

AMIZcloud is a cloud-based centralized control system, allowing IT administrators to manage QNAP NAS, switches, and other VNF network devices from a single interface, eliminating the need for additional management servers and reducing hardware management burdens. AMIZcloud also supports hierarchical structures for "Organizations" and "Sites," making it easy to visualize and manage devices within various departments, particularly suitable for enterprises with multi-site architecture and numerous devices, providing secure, efficient, and cost-effective multi-device management.

"IT departments often face the challenge of managing dispersed devices across multiple sites," said Ronald Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP, adding "The QNAP AMIZcloud centralized management platform provides an easy-to-use, low-cost solution for managing multiple devices, helping IT teams quickly grasp the operational status of NAS and switches, significantly improving management efficiency. In the future, the platform will continue to optimize software management features, while also supporting more remote device monitoring features and configuration, enabling centralized management all in one place."

To bind switches into AMIZcloud for centralized management, users must upgrade their switches to the latest QSS v4.1 or QSS Pro v4.1 software version, this new version also supports the following features:
  • Centralized Control via Cloud: Monitor multiple switches through AMIZcloud for IT remote troubleshooting and reduced maintenance costs, including: viewing switch device information (such as IP address, connection status, temperature, and firmware version), viewing port information (connection status and upload/download traffic), and quickly completing device binding by using the built-in cloud wizard.
  • Real-time Fiber Port Monitoring: Fiber ports come with built-in optical transceivers and Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), providing real-time monitoring and reporting of parameters related to fiber connections, such as optical power, temperature, voltage, and transceiver status.
  • Low-latency AVoIP User Experience: Supports IGMP Snooping with QoS priority management, suitable for video walls and large outdoor display wall applications.
  • More Features: QoS offers more granular traffic control (Queue Scheduling) and priority management (Strict Policy) to ensure the timeliness of critical traffic and improve network performance. ACL Mirroring can duplicate traffic that matches specific ACL rules and forward it to designated monitoring or analysis devices.
