The ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 TUF OC is a factory overclocked custom design that comes with the strongest cooler of all the RTX 5070 models that we've tested. It runs whisper-quiet and at very low temperatures out of the box. Once you turn on the quiet BIOS, the card will be inaudible even at full gaming load.

It measures lower than Asus' Noctua OC series (I'm impressed W1zzard even has the facilities to test this low), but how's the sound quality compare? Do the Noctua fans still sound perceptably smoother and less intrusive?

But wait, there's great NEWS!

For a limited time, Gigabyte allows you to jump through hoops to promote their products and win the chance to purchase one of their RTX 5090 MASTER GPU!

That's right, you can join a SCAVENGER HUNT and score guaranteed shopping access! Soon, you'll have to pay to win the chance to... pay more! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

This name change has really really thrown everyone.
Copy Nv names - sure, I don't really care
Try to align names with Strix halo - why not
Begin at 9000 -WHY?

Unless they're going for 10070 Xt next time (which I doubt), I don't see the point. So I'm expecting more confusion next generation as well.

It performs better than I expected, but that 12GB VRAM will ensure a very short lifespan, it's already struggling in some titles.

That being said, I would have put in the 3070Ti in the comparison chart, would make for a very interesting view. @W1zzard

@W1zzard What's the difference between quiet and standard BIOS on ASUS TUF RTX 5000 and RX 9000 cards?
From graphs it seems there is no difference in terms of performance. Does quiet BIOS only keep fans at lower speed?

The market is weird right now, seems in the UK 7900xt price is collapsing, back below 600 now. Meanwhile lots of 9070xt available on eBay only from 680 to 750 but none new...

Seems like the market for 1200 5080 is dead now as well.., Scan and Ocuk got multiple models available

Can't imagine who would buy 5070 at the price this card is...

The whole market could be in deep trouble by June...

So $190 for a beefier cooler? Nah. I'll take the MSRP models..
Not sure MSRP models of the 5070 have ever existed outside of the maybe few thousand founders edition that Nvidia sold on their site, and a few thousand scattered temporarily throughout Microcenter's in the US.

This card is roughly the realistic MSRP for the 5070, right now. 5070 non-ti's will probably end up around $650-700 when GPU stock out-paces scalper orders.

There are so many cards in the charts how can you not tell exactly where the 3070Ti would land? Just interpolate exactly halfway between the 3070 and 3080. Cards are mostly likely chosen at even intervals to do exactly that for other cards. This saves time for W1zzard I’m sure.

Even in excel there is a feature to connect the dots in scatter plots.

Benchmark Scores The best GPU in the world is the brain. 100!
I had to buy 1 for my cuda projects and there was only 1 5070 in whole city (zotac). With 25 milivolts extra, it goes 3275MHz (generally games are voltage capped while benchmarks are TDP capped). Otherwise 3220 MHz. Why does Zotac only allow 25 milivolts? With my R7870 Hawk, I could add 150-200 milivolts without a problem (short-term ofcourse) and overclock to 1475 MHz (1000 MHz is base HD7870).

I guess, the same chip could do better in Asus TUF, with that 25 Watts higher limit. (but don't know its overvolt limit, zotac allowed only 25mV)

Without touching any slider, this zotac card boosted 2900MHz on light-loaded games and 2800MHz on heavy-rendering games. But on 1.045Volts as the default (so with 25mV slider maxed it becomes 1.07V).

When power slider is set to 70% (175Watt) (and + 325 oc), gpu stays between 2600MHz(0.9V)-2800 MHz(0.92V) depending on intensity of graphics task.

Then you haven't been paying attention, and that's on you.
Half a dozen cards at MSRP, that seemingly haven't had stock since at or near-release. Maybe occasional stock, probably picked up by bots instantly, but yes, I'm not in the market for a 5070, so I don't pay close attention. Brief attention shows 0 5070's at MSRP anywhere on the internet.

The card in this review is the cheapest 5070 in stock on the internet right now, at $749, on pcpartspicker.

That's because they keep selling out first. How do you not get that?
Yes, I understand that those are the desirable cards for consumers. Just wondering why you think a company would sell $549 cards when they can just bump up the price to $600-700 and people will still buy them? These companies are under no obligation to sell the cards for MSRP, and with no stock, they won't be selling the cards at MSRP.

Like I said, the price if this card is near the realistic price you're going to be seeing 5070's at for the foreseeable future. Maybe if you run a bot you'll be able to grab a 5070 for $600 for the next month or two.

Because they won't sell as many as quickly. The reason the MSRP models are sold out is because that is what people are willing to pay. Meanwhile, the expensive models are sitting on shelves available. Some people will give in to the greed, sure. Most are not willing to and will not. Seriously how are you not understanding this?
