PowerColor Red Devil AMD RX 9070 To Get Fresh Coat of Paint with Leaked Spectral White Edition

The ominously named PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT looks to be getting the same treatment as the Hellhound Spectral White edition with an all-white Spectral Edition refresh. While the design has yet to be confirmed by PowerColor, it has seemingly leaked on Amazon ahead of the official announcement. While the page seems to have been taken down by the retail giant, VideoCardz managed to grab some images of the new white AMD RX 9070 XT GPU before it was removed.

Much like the Hellhound Spectral Edition, the Red Devil Spectral Edition has been completely drained of color. Even the hallmark Red Devil logo on the cooling fins in the backplate cutout and the illuminated Hellstone at the end of the RX 9070's shroud seems to have a clearer acrylic cover, as opposed to the smoky acrylic cover on the standard issue Red Devil card. Everything else on the Red Devil Spectral White edition seems to be identical to the regular Red Devil RX 9070 XT. Pricing also seems to be identical to the original, at $899 or €929. A launch date for the Spectral White RX 9070 XT Red Devil is unclear at the time of writing, but it will likely be soon, given its appearance on Amazon.

In fairness the existing models are virtually all black.

I'll wager that this is going to be the rumoured spectral hellhound not the red devil variant.

Might want to start looking to Australia for them, 929 euro is 1599 aud (ignoring we have GST, shipping and 'Australia tax') and I can order a red devil for 1299 aud (or 754 euro's in a straight dollar conversion) assuming it's in stock of course.

We do pay a premium for the white models even though they're functionally identical.

I actually would like a spectral hell hound (or devil if the card IS a devil) for my build.

I might be wrong, old info from around 15 years ago, but I read that white PCB is actually very expensive to make compared to almost any other color you find in abundance. That is the cause there are so few harware using it despite there are a ton of cases, coolers in that color. Even looking at memory modules you'll find black PCB ones covered up in white cooling...

Well, I think most people (me included) would call that a case of "stupid is as stupid does", since I can see no reason for it to be like that....but oh well, whatchagonnado ? (personally, I'd take a dremel to it within seconds of getting it out of the box !)

But congrats to PowerColor on finally making the first REAL "white" card, that is actually like, you know, all "WHITE" as claimed, and all I can say is it's about FRIGGIN time
