Hi-Tech enthusiasts who will visit this year's IFA Consumer Electronics show ( Berlin Aug 31 - Sep 5 2007 ) will have the chance to witness the official showcase of the new LG GGW-H20N drive, the first 6x Blu-Ray burner which is also capable of reading HD DVD media.
The GGW-H10N Super-multi Blue Blu-Ray/HD DVD was LG's pride up until now.

The specifications for the new LG GGW-H20N drive are a 6x burning for BD-R media using CAV writing strategy, 3x HD DVD-ROM reading, 16x writing for DVD+/-R media and 40x for CD-R. Another plus is the support for 4x BD-R DL (50GB) burning, meaning that it will take less than 50minutes to burn 48 GB of data.
The SATA version of the LG GGW-H20N drive will also be compatible with the DVD-RAM format.
The LG GGW-H20N drive will be priced at approximately €400 ( 580$ ) and is expected to be released in retail this september.

That is a tremendous price and as was stated, prices are indeed coming down. If Im not mistaken, thats a $400+ price drop from the first batch that came out late last year, beginning of this one.
