Microsoft Recalls Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel

Microsoft today announced that it is recalling all the Xbox 360 Wireless Wheels manufactured during 2006 - 2007. The company is taking the step after reports of a component in the $129.99 controller overheating and releasing smoke when using the AC-DC power supply. Owners of the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel should stop using the AC-DC power supply until they have obtained their retrofit. Owners may continue to operate the Wheel using battery power. While operating in battery mode, the force feedback feature will not be available. To have the wireless wheel replaced, please go here.

I wonder how good this wheel is. I hope the force feedback is good. I bought a Microsoft Joystick for my PC a long time ago - the thing was bad ass!

LOL. I was just about to buy one. I'll wait until they correct the mess first. I actually used the wheel and was pretty impressed with it. My complaint isthe shiny silver part is plastic and not metal...and its hard to hit the A button when steering. The shifters feel nice and the pedals are good as well. The force feedback is awesome. It really shutters and you feel the car grip the road coming out of drifts. Improved my race-line percentage by 15 percent once i got used to it.

More proof that MS should stick to making software.... and I'm sure next month we'll hear about some other piece of MS hardware smoking or bursting into flame..... hrm.... maybe their new gaming mouse, that could be fun! :laugh:

At least it still works and yeah I thought of buying it a couple times heard great reviews about it all over the place online and in public I just wish it wasnt so expensive lol bad Microsoft only your good products are expensive :shadedshu:

I never bought it as its too damn over priced for my liking. Seems Sony isnt the only one out to gouge the consumer.
