5090 disaster

I've noticed since they obviously put the janitors on the 50 series design decisions, drivers, and ridiculous prices my 4090 which is the best card I've ever known isn't behaving as well as it used to. Black screens, crashes things that never happened before. I was so excited for the 5090. but I have no desire to get one anymore. I also have 7900xtx in another machine which I'll switch to see if that helps. But I play on a 57 inch monitor so actually need the horsepower. It's sad how they did this. It's a 3 billion dollar market to them. Pennies to them. The last thing I would do is just keep gouging the customers who have supported the company before all this b.s. other crap came around. No I think if I can max everything on my amd and have no problems I'm getting rid of the 4090 and getting either another 7900xtx or 9700xt if it is close in performance. Any one else feeling this way. I exclude fanboys from this because that is just dumb to me. I have ever kind of hardware you can imagine from all different vendors in about 10 machines so whatever works best is what I get. What are your thoughts? There are lot more people smarter than I am on this site. Oh the thing that keeps it stop crashing is lowering your settings. On a 4090. Unacceptable

Try rolling back the driver. Could be system memory or intel cpu degradation. 5090 availability should get better in the upcoming months if some rumours are to be believed. Yes it's a pet project but there are no free lunch. Then if you can grab it at MSRP, and I wouldn't defect to AMD just for being slightly unconvinced. Plus it's 50% faster.

These x90 cards are driven way beyond a GPU should be driven in terms of power consumption and heat production. Have you seen the VRM on the 5090 FE? Jesus H. Christ...

They aren't even graphics cards anymore, but overly complex space heaters capable of some image output, powered by extremely tiny cables.

I'd much rather get something more reasonable in terms of both price and power, but that's just me. I ain't gonna go above x70 class for 1440 UW in the foreseeable future, that's for sure.

I had 4 black screens while playing Horizon 5, while locked to 60fps.
Even with the card not having to struggle to play the game.

I went back to the drivers before the 50 series launch, and no issues.

Yeah I've tried about everything but a few of those suggestions I will try those thanks! But really they couldn't do better than this. I would've skipped until the next process.
