Leadtek is pleased to announce the launch of new mid-range graphics cards, WinFast PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme, to cost- conscious gamers. The new cards, with all solid aluminum capacitors for ultra high durability and stability, even during over-clocking, deliver high performance through the new HCT (High-resolution Compression Technology), and present the best cost per performance ever with up to 90% performance increase on the SUB US$200 segment.

WinFast PX9600 GT Extreme

Based on 65nm technology and powered by NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT graphics processing units, the WinFast PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme come with 512MB 256bit GDDR3 memory and a GPU clock speed of 650 and 720 MHz respectively. They are designed to run perfectly with the PCI Express 2.0 interface, the new bus architecture that doubles the interconnect bit rate from 2.5 to 5.0 GT/second in a seamless and compatible manner. In addition, it is fully backward compatible with existing PCI Express 1.0 motherboards for the broadest support. All of this makes it ready for the most demanding future bandwidth games and 3D applications.

WinFast PX9600 GT

For true-to-life image quality, the WinFast PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme make perfect use of NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology in picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and vivid image scaling. Besides, up to the minute Microsoft DirectX 10 with full Shader Model 4.0 and OpenGL 2.1 support gives PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme the muscle to deliver realistic gaming effects with film-quality, and provide users with a more friendly environment under the Windows Vista operating system.

Even more, the WinFastPX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme enable playback of the HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc and other protected content at full HD resolutions with integrated HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) support. With Dual Dual-Link DVI-I output, they sustain digital displays up to a resolution of 2560x1600 and support extreme HD games and entertainment. Meanwhile, the new cards support build-in HDMI signal mixing function, via DVI-to-HDMI dongle and SPDIF-in audio cable attached in package, to transfer both video and audio data using the same cable.

For more gaming pleasure, the WinFastPX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme, with revolutionary unified architecture by GigaThread Technology, fully support thousands of independent, simultaneous threads allocating processing power, providing extreme processing efficiency and up to 2x the gaming performance of last generation GPUs.

Last but not least, WinFast PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme come bundled with "OVERLORD", a new award-winning RPG and original action adventurous game set in a very warped fantasy world. Key innovation and the most interesting, is its line up of impish creatures, the Minions, who use their unique skills to fetch, fight and die for you. Only your action will decide whether you rise to become the new all-powerful Overlord. It all depends on just how 'evil' you can really be. Played with plenty of black humor and dark irony, with Overlord you are surely able to indulge your twisted parodies of classical fantasy, elaborate digital scenarios and characters. All in all a mischievous experience is.

At a time when many game players, especially students, complain about the high price of performance graphics cards with impressive benchmarks, it is great to know that the approach taken by the new WinFast PX9600 GT and PX9600 GT Extreme means they more than pass muster both in terms of value and quality to satisfy a game player's wildest dreams…

I'm avoiding Leadtek like the plague, so many complains about their customer service are all over the internet.

Gee, someone give me a "normal" 9600gt and I'll make it an overclocked version!
I like flashing BIOSes. Just get an overclocked edition bios off the net...
