Thats whats bugging me about Nvidia...releaseing new drivers - but they don´t support "old" cards like my 8800GTX...that sucks.......

Fanboy or not - ATI have the best driver releases.....IMO

174.70 supports pretty much every card out. And there are alredy modded INF files for 174.53 to make it work with all cards.

I too would like to see 8 series drivers. And yes these might work with older cards as well, but official new drivers are what I'm after:

ForceWare Release 169 WHQL
Version: 169.25
Release Date: December 20, 2007

3 months is a bit too long, considering I got a new driver every month with ATI :/
(edit: true I didn't update the drivers every month, only when they were faster or provided with somethig new/bug fixes :p)

WHQL means jack. Nvidia releases tons (like 2 per week) of "beta" drivers. The only thing to worry about is stability with some of the real beta ones, but reading a few reviews of what ppl say is enough to decide to use it or not.

The 169s are pretty good, and 174.16 is good for me (8800GT). I always use X-treme G drivers. They almost always pick the best new drivers to mod and release. You can get them here
