Recently I upgraded from my old 4850's to 2x MSI 5850's and managed to squeeze a lil 9800gt inbetween them too. the 5850's actually run at pretty decent temps even while overclocked but the 9800gt gets up to about 80-90C when running physx. I guess this is ok considering the complete lack of airflow between the 5850s but looks great none the less! :)

Heres a few pics

Rockin!

Perhaps since the 9800GT is just doing PhysX, underclock/undervolt?

thanks for your feedback and yep the 9800gt is a zotac eco edition which is low power and doesnt require an additional power connector :)

I could possibly downclock the 9800 but...i dunno...making hardware slower isn't my thing lol If it isn't burning up i'll leave it as is for the time being. Im pretty sure nvidia cards are alright until about 90 or 100c?

Just add in an extra fan forcing air between the 5850's and temps should go down a decent amount. Try it~

Ive got these cards in a HAF 932 case which has 3x 230mm fans one on top, front and on the side, plus a 140mm on the back. So airflows not really a problem. Maybe one of those PCI system cooling fans might help a little though? or I can replace the 230mm fan on the side with 4x 120's - hmmm I wonder if 4 120's will cool better than the single 230?

yes yes it will i replaced the top 230 and side 230mm fans with 3 120mm 80cfm coolermaster red led fans and the side panel theres now 4 120mm 80cfm coolermaster fans using a positive airflow setup temps on gpus 2 5850s dropped 10'c cpu dropped 5'c and chipset mobo dropped 4'c hdd temps went up a tad bit but thats more from the switch from negative to positive :) replacing the side 230mm with 4 120mms will make a huge difference direct cooling wise i would advise it just because i hate hot running components

got same setup spinning here on Antec 900. hope you got some damn good side fan there.. just ripped down all cover plates on entire box to get clean airflow. With exception that I got 5850 & 9800GTX. Trying to get this functional under Windows Vista SP2 + Platform update, atm with fake VGA display adapter I created quickly. Seems needing to connect the NV card first alone.

Damn that's a tight squeeze you got there on CPU cooled to cards and cards themselfs. That's gonna need some serious air pushed in to it. Although these 58xx cards runs quiet and cold which is nice.

Hey bro, is that 9800GT on full x16 slot or on a lower slot like 4x, or would that even work? and is the 9800GT bottlenecking your setup??

"Hacked" Nvidia drivers to do that?

As far as I know all that is needed is Windows 7. A little guide on what to do would be nice.
