Lexar's new FireWire 800 CF Card Reader uses the powerful interface to offer unprecedented bandwidth with allows you to optimally use the latest CF card technology. While the traditional USB interface is limited to a maximum of about 30 MB/s, the FireWire interface goes up to 100 MB/s. Clearly a difference if you move a lot of files to and from your CF card.

Just a quick question. Was the reader tested using a 1394b port? I ask because the review didn't say and the MB listed in your system specs doesn't have a 1394b port.

I would comment that very few MB's come with a 1394b port and so using this reader to it's best advantage would require buying an add on card. That is if the reader actually performs any better with 1394b than 1394a.
