I think that if you get an 8800 your system will be bottlenecked by your CPU

If your system with a GX2 is giving you crap performance in Vegas there must be something wrong there, I have not come across a game where I can't max everything at 1680 x 1050 with my 7900GTO and get at least acceptable frames although i dont play vegas but I do play Oblivion, Fear, GRAW etc.

i dont think r6 vegas uses sli well (if at all) so is only using half of your gx2, adding another will show dick all improvement

This is one reason why that card is never really fully used.

If you want some extra performance vmod the 7950 and get a GX2 spacer kit.... ran mine daily @ 700/800, only vmodded the vgpu though...

try disabling one of the cards and see if the performance increases...

a gx2 is quite powerful...so i cannot see why it cannot perform.

You should get dual 8800GTS' and SLI them, it'll cost less, perform better, look WAY better, and be future-proof :).

I would have to agree with ZEK. :) Has anyone noticed his specs ? it says hes using a 465w psu most likely the bad performance problem

Oh, one more thing. You're not going to notice any performance gain by going Quad SLI, you're only going to notice glitches and be stuck with ancient, unsupported drivers. Quad SLI is just a funny idea NVIDIA left behind them. Just get a PSU with a decent 12V+ rail or four, and get one or two 8800GTS 320MB's. I would also recommend cleaning Windows. Make sure you only have one antivirus running in the background, turn off useless firewalls/active spyware protectors, make sure things like AIM and Windows Media Player don't start with Windows...stuff like that. Start-Run-MSConfig and disable most of the startup items will certainly help you.

With a 19" wide, I'd say 1440x900, Tatty.

I don't see how a GX2 is struggling to run that. Maybe it's time for a fresh install?

Dude... unreal 3 = nothing. First off, you wasted your money on Quad SLI. As Zek said, 8800GTS would be a better option, why not try selling your two 7950GX2s and get two 8800GTS 320MBs?
